Nice Saw
Plenty power and smooth cutting. Had to replace older saw. Made a good choice.

Solid saw
Solid saw. I’m right handed but have always been one to have the blade on the left side, I like to see where I cut easily. The saw is powerful and has precision cutting. A great tool.

Great saw for the price
This saw is light weight and has enough to rip thick lumber. Like the way dust is blown downwards. Using stock blade as of now and no issues with the cut.

Great saw for right handed builders
GREAT tool. It’s very smooth running (nearly purrs and lighter than my old (very old) saw.

I am trying to figure out why this “southpaw” design isn’t the standard circular saw design. I’m right handed and having the motor on the other side makes seeing the line clear and obvious. No neck craning, no need for a laser. The wide magnesium bed slides smoothly and easily making a good match with the smooth sounding motor.

Well worth the money, I’d buy it again and I’d recommend it to a friend.

Left blade design is a +++ in my opinion.
I haven't used the saw much, but it seems powerful and not too heavy. The left blade design is nice even for the right-handed user.

great equipment
light, powerfull. smooth, compact, easy ajustments.
one of the very best if not the best !!!!!
the only thing I would suggest to improove would be the anglle on the wrench for instaling the blade should be less, that would help to get a better grip on the bolt.

A great saw that could be a little greater
I bought this saw to replace my 50 year old 77 which was stolen. This is my first sidewinder and I am really impressed. It will never be the framers choice, at least on the West coast, but it is light, cuts straight, and generally a well built saw. What improvements are needed? It would be nice if there were a top exhaust with a hose connection so it would work with a dust extractor and the blade wrench is poorly designed. The wrench seems to be designed to fit into the shoe not to tighten the blade easily. But these are small things. Also, this is the only sidewinder that has the blade on the right side.

My first cut went this way....A 2x6x8 [still wet] the saw gently pulled me from one end to the other rather than my pushing the saw. Thank you Skilsaw!

Excellent professional-grade saw!
I'm not a "lefty," but I prefer the southpaw blade placement. For a DIYer, like me, it allows me to see my cut line much more easily. And the "Southpaw Sidewinder" fits my needs, perfectly. It is lightweight, rugged, and very high quality. I just wish I could sell my old table saw and miter saw, so I could by the new worm-gear units from Skilsaw!
