Great Battery
Great Battery! Lasts longer, powerful, light weight, easy to switch out, charges relatively faster.

Red tools for life!
We have about three dozen tools, so you can imagine the batteries, I think about thirty. 3s 4s 5s 9s and 12s. But the 5.0 are where it’s at! They have incredible life in the smaller stuff, drills, impacts, saws, and what not. They even do well in the big stuff like the big blower, hammer drills, miter saw, and tower lights. I run 8 5.0s on my truck and charge them about every two weeks! And today I have my first EVER bad battery in 7 years. They take falls from the roof, get used as a hammer, used in the rain snow and heat of summer. They are like a mailman but never go on strike.

Brand new battery doesn't charge
I bought this battery this morning along with an angle grinder. Went home and put the battery in the charger and it doesn't charge. Very poor quality product, I'm returning the grinder, throwing the battery away and going back to DeWalt.

Love warranty
I’ve never personally had a problem with any milwaukee battery unless I dropped it a bunch and/or it was a couple years old, but they are warranted a full year I believe(fc?... My 4.5 year old hammer drill broke and I was able to just send it back to Milwaukee and they replaced it with a brand new one, no questions asked. Love that. 5 Star Warranty on all product lines.

Works great for the abuse I give it
I’ve been using two of this battery for about 2-3 years now and they are still chugging along. Charges in about 2 hrs or less per battery, lasts all day. I switch them out between my impact, my drill, hammer drill, light, bandsaw, sawzall and radio. No falling apart, no corrosion on the contacts and still lasts as long as day 1. I’ll upgrade to the higher output batteries when these fail.......but they haven’t yet.

Feels very loose on tools
Loose fitment on my 1/2 high torque impact wrench cause a male terminal on the tool to erode. Another person in the shop I work in has the same issue. Very disappointed compared to other Milwaukee products...

Good value on sale
Our 3.0 versions are wearing out and this is a good value when on sale for $99. Longer battery life (not more power).

I have a red lithium 4.0 battery that's malfunctioning where can I get it rebuilt if possible
sparky on Jul 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Depending where you are located Batteries Plus can rebuild these batteries but is usually about same a getting a new battery.Milwaukee has several repair centers all over the US if under warranty or just needing a new one. I have had good service withCPO purchasing a recon set for just a small amount more than a battery replacement and getting 2 batteries and a charger and a tool.

BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question.
DO NOT under any circumstances purchase or buy a rebuilt Lithium-ion battery from anyone. Also do not purchase aftermarket Lithium-ion batteries. All Lithium-ion batteries are subject to causing fires if not handled carefully and charged correctly. For example, low quality (cheap brand xxx) Lithium-ion batteries were the cause of recent Hoverboard fires that made national news. I am one of the fire investigators that investigated a Million Dollar house fire in Nashville, TN caused by a Hoverboard. I also investigated two other non-hoverboard Lithium-ion fires the same month. That being said, I own and use several devices that use Lithium-ion batteries. They include Milwaukee M18 REDLITHIUM XC 18V 5.0 AH and M12 REDLITHIUM 2.0 batteries, Dell Lithium-ion computer batteries, drone Lithium-ion batteries, and Hoverboard Lithium-ion batteries manufactured by Samsung. Lithium-ion batteries are great (high power density) if purchased from a major well-known manufacturer and charged only with that manufacturer's Lithium-ion battery charger. The batteries must not be exposed to high heat (summer temperatures inside a vehicle), excessive vibration or blunt force, overcharged or undercharged. Overcharge can result from leaving the battery on the charger too long or using an aftermarket charger with poor voltage regulation. Undercharge can also damage the battery. Undercharge can occur when the the battery sits for several months without being charged. They store best when charged to 2/3 capacity and not letting the battery capacity drop below the last bar of charge. Again, I trust Milwaukee REDLITHIUM batteries. I wear them in my Milwaukee heated jacket and use them in my tools. Only charge Lithium-ion type batteries when you can keep an eye on them and never leave them charging overnight or when you are not at home. It is better to be safe than sorry. Thanks again for the question, I hope this helps.
