Great Add-On For Your Cordless Impact
This is a very handy addition to your 3/8" impact when used on the low setting. Perfect for using screwdriver bits to drive or remove screws. I use mine at the junkyard when needed so that I don't have to carry an extra cordless tool in my already heavy tool bag. Knurled collar makes for an easy grip when changing bits. Drill bits mounted on a hex shank also fit into this chuck. Great tool for a cheap price. Buy it!

Adapter that can replace an entire tool
This adapter compliments my M18 Fuel 3/8" impact wrench very well. This adapter has remedied my need for an entire other tool, a 1/4" hex impact driver.

I mostly work on machinery, however, I used this adapter on my aforementioned impact wrench during the rebuild of our farm's original barn. It, coupled with one of Milwaukee's most powerful compact impact wrenches left no screw unturned.

While the adapter is a bit loose on the wrench's arbor, it cinches tight when pressure is applied to a screw head. It would fall off of the wrench if dropped, but not on it's own.

I also wish it would accept bits by just pushing them in. Instead, you must pull the collar back to install a bit. Other impact drivers I have owned had this feature, and I sure do miss it.

If I were a professional carpenter, I may wish to have a standalone 1/4" hex impact driver. But, even for driving bits when working on machinery, this adapter is worth it's weight in gold.

Does this adapter have a set screw or other means of tightening the adapter to the 3/8 anvil of the impact? I have a concern about it being a sloppy connection to the anvil.

BEST ANSWER: This adapter does contain a set screw that can be used for tightening the adapter.
