My workhorse
The M18 hackzall is an awesome tool. When I first purchased it 7 years ago I really didn't have a need for it. But it came as a package deal where it was included with three other power tools that I did need. Since then, I've found a million different uses for my Hackzall and there aren't too many projects where I don't bring it along "just in case". My biggest use is cutting down brush, and small trees because I can cut them off right flush with the ground and not have to dig out the trunk. If you do have to get the trunk out, I use the hackzall to cut all the main roots that are just below the surface because I can stick the blade into the ground and cut right through them. Once all the big roots are cut, the trunk is usually loose enough to pull out without having to do a lot of digging. After 7 years and hundreds of buckthorn trees my old workhorse has finally died. I'm ordering a new one today!

Works for me
It gets the job done...overall pleased, a one-handed cordless saw for a decent price. Now milw just needs stronger longer lasting blades, I've spent more than half of what the tool cost in a month!

Good Value
This saw works great. The variable speed really helps out when starting a cut and it is easy to control. The only regret is that it took me until now to get one.

Is it good for cutting metal and does it have good handling for precision?
JEO on Jun 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I use these for cutting metal a lot with the Milwaukee "Torch" blades. As for as precision accuracy that depends on how careful you are getting started and how slow you cut. It is a 1 handed sawzall, that I tend to use rather than a regular sawzall because it is smaller and more manageable.
