I am a Auto Mech. For For_! Bought this because I THOUGHT HOW GREAT THE LIGHT! And Yes it is! But the Magnets are sorrowful! Top one ok One on back etc. TOTAL WASTE! I have had my light what a month FELL SO MANY TIMES EVEN THE MAGNETS NOW HAVE FELL OUT! If you stick it some were give it a 50% chance that it won't hold and fall! If using it for looking and etc THIS THING IS BRIGHT AND GREAT!
For my line for work being a repair tech this light is perfect. Crazy bright, change it from dead to full off the truck USB in less then an hour, fits right in the tool bag without taking up a lot of room. Every other tech at my job loves my light but won’t man up to spend the 60$+ for it! The only flaw with this light is the magnet that is part of the clip (opposite the flat top doesn’t really do anything, I’m in no habit of useing it. But the flat top sticks to everything dead solid. When this eventually breaks i will buy another without hesitation.
To me is nothing more than a toy. I bought it an like everybody says half the drops could of been avoided if the magnets would have been stronger. Now it doesn’t even come on. The green charged light is solid green but when the button is clicked its flashes 2-3 times an then nada. Like lcla1000 I too am a field tech that needs a dependable tool to help me with my work. I bought this light new approx 3 months ago an now it’s not even working.
It's good, but the price tag is too high for a flash light. Also, what's with the packaging? You are not selling lethal weapons here. The packaging is ridiculously hard to open. Clearly no one at Milwaukee tried to take one of those out. You should film the board of director trying themselves with a regular pair of scissors. Post it on youtube and it will become viral for sure.
Has great light output but the battery doesn’t last very long on high. Magnet on clip part of light not strong at all. very rugged, its been dropped multiple times due to the weak magnets and still works! Wish it had an extra battery and charger like most other lights
Saw this light hanging on the shelf at the local tool store, turned it on and was immediately impressed. For its size this light is VERY bright and lights a very wide area. I'm a serious milwaukee loyalist so that just made the purchase so much easier. Once i got it back to work and found just how well it suited my trade (i'm an aircraft mechanic / avionics technician i was in love. This thing will light up an entire engine, or the entire backside of an instrument panel from countless angles. I later saw it online in a package deal available at the time that included an additional battery and charger for roughly the same price. Upset that i had missed out on the deal i bought an additional one for myself (for home) and one for both of my technicians as a gift. In the end i bought 8 of these lights and gave them to friends as gifts. Everybody LOVES them. This light replaces the traditional "drop light" with more light, no cords, and around 2-2.5 hrs run time on high. GREAT JOB MILWAUKEE!!!!
this is bright for a small light. I've been using it in data centers to work on servers. never any problems. magnet working well and holds onto the metal racks great. really helps me see into tight corners. Highly recommend this light
The light is very bright. My complaint is that the magnets are nowhere as strong as I expected them to be. They hold the light on to surfaces, but just barely. Don't expect the light to stick horizontally when using the clip magnet as gravity will win and it will spin to a vertical position.
You may think knocking it 2 stars for that is harsh, but it really does reduce it's usability if you have to be worried about not touching it while you are working lest you break it's weak magnetic hold. If Milwaukee would put stronger magnets on it, it would be an easy 5 stars. As it is, I wish I had figured this out before throwing the packaging away.
As a long-time user of Milwaukee cordless tools I was anxious to use this light. After only a couple of months the battery doesn’t take a charge. Reading reviews from other sites it seems that Milwaukee may have skimped on the USB connector for this product. Love the light but does me no good if I can’t charge it. Have to look for a different light. Also, no response from Milwaukee when I contacted them.
This light is AWESOME! I love it. It was a gift from a friend and I use it all the time. For such a small light it is super powerful. And the magnet makes it super convenient. Whether I'm doing some work around the house, grilling burgers on the grill (yup, when I'm grilling at night I'll attach the light to the grill just so I can test to see if the burgers are done) or walking the dog (it makes the pickup much easier at night) this light does the trick. I also love that I don't need to buy/change the batteries. I just plug it in at night and it's good to go the next day.
This light is well worth the extra few dollars I was sceptic to spend. It is hands down the best light I've ever purchased. You can tell when they designed this they had the consumer in mind. Awesome job milwaukee!
Great little light, fits everywhere, very bright, great color.
I just threw a new stainless muffler under my old Jeep, used this along with my old twin tube fluorescent corded work light. That light is brighter at about 1,600 lumens, but you're limited on where it fits, and the cord's in the way, and it spins around so it's shining in your face. It's bright, but annoying, but was my best work light out of all the ones I've tried. Headlamps are great, but they don't work well with a welding helmet. The super wide, smooth flood on this lights up everything in the area. No rings, spots or shadows, and the color is pure portable daylight. It's right about 4,000k, which is perfect in my opinion. The rear magnet is marginal, it will slide on shiny vertical surfaces, a bit of rubber would probably help the friction, or more/bigger magnets. The end magnet is great, it was super easy to tuck in around the undercarriage to keep it away from the welding heat and out of the way, not snagging on the cord like my other light. I highly recommend it, and I'll be buying another soon. You should have one in your tool bag or box. If you're going to use it all day, I'd recommend an extra battery, or just buy another light and switch them out when it dies. Great light!
I am an electrician almost 60 and the brightness of the led's and ease of use make this a great product. While it is expensive, i have dropped it a couple of times and shows no wear. I am very pleased.
OK the other guys say my service truck looks like a rolling Milwaukee display case with all the new toys our shop orders but this little light is soooo awesome and packs a punch, the size, the magnet, the run time and quick charge time is amazing. As I get older and lighting is more important to me now, It fits in the smallest panels and lights up your personal work area, just plug it into the wireless 12v speaker at lunch time and your ready for the rest of the day. I need to order a few more because I know the other guys will want my light.
As far as light output, I'd say it's above the rated output of 445 lumens. I have several high end lights rated between 800-1000 lumens and I'd say it feels closer to 600 or so. Bottom line is output is great, color temp is very warm/ natural especially for led. Also the magnet can actually hold the weight of the light in horizontal or vertical orientation. I've had previous Milwaukee light that could not support its own weight, this new light works as it should. Run time is less than expected 1.5-2.5 hours on hi, but enough for most panel or rack work. They are a bit high priced on the replacement batteries , maybe that will drop over time. A single 18650 cell in a plastic housing should not be $40.
This light is great. It's small with a huge output of light that is easy to position with a magnet to grab onto metal objects. It fits easily into your pocket or a tool belt pouch. Note all the nails get stuck to is but no big deal.
