BOUGHT FOR WORK IN TIGHT SPOTS
Purchased for alteration work in an attic/crawlspace. This with the addition of a palm nailer should get me through a difficult Job.

Perfect Bowl sanding tool
I struggled over buying this tool. I have a cheap 90 degree drill that I use for sanding bowls I turn on my lathe. It worked ok but I was not happy with the way it sanded the interior of the bowls. The 45 degree angle makes doing the inside very easy. The side walls are easy to get to with this tool. I'm no pro so I constantly have to sand out minor tool marks and tear outs on my bowls. I keep this one set up with soft disks for interior work and use the old cheap O for the outside. I always have more sanding to do on the interior. With proper paper progression you can get perfect results on the interior. I'm glad I bought it as my sanding time has been cut in half.

Grip is inadequate
Good for tight spots.
Paddle trigger interferes with getting a good grip on the tool. Needs a trigger with suitable grip area. Poor design.

Good for woodworking
This drill is great for wood working. I use this drill for screwing in pocket screws. It does not have enough power for larger lag screws. For larger drill use the Super Hawg.

This is a heavy duty tool.
This is a heavy duty drill, Larger than I expected. It has all the power you'll ever need. I wish I would have bought one years ago.

Better than most.
I wish there was more competition. The cheaper brands do not last at all. This one goes at least a few years before it burns out. For what you pay it should last longer than that. If there was another alternative I would definitely try it.

Did not work for as advertised
Agree with Mikey et al. Bought to drill holes in studs for wiring. Tool advertised as "heavy duty". Wouldn't even drill 1/2" hole without stalling.
To compare, I drilled 1" hole (auger bit with my 1/2" chuck 18V cordless relatively easily. Couldn't believe a corded product would be so wimpy.
Never did enough to run into the "cord positioning" problem.

What is the distance from the drill housing to the centerline of the chuck? Ie how tight a corner can I get into and drill?
Dan on Jul 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The overall length of this drill is 11". This drill's ergonomic design makes tight corners accessible while the angled housing helps avoid obstacles.
Is this drill reversable and is it variable speed.
Thanks,
Marty
Marty on Nov 12, 2012
BEST ANSWER: It is not reversible and it has 2 speed options instead of variable speed.
