Great solution when portable is needed
Works great for anything you'd use a smaller nailer for. Trim, tacking down siding, light fastening while framing things, furniture work, etc. More powerful than expected. A bit heavy and might be tough to hold for a long day, but that little bit of weight is far made up by not having to drag around hoses and a noisy compressor for such small work. A+ Makita!

Well balanced, decent power cordless finish nailer
I used this nailer to install 13 six panel oak doors with colonial oak molding and I tried to use it to install 200 lineal feet of 3/4" custom milled ash baseboard. The gun worked great for the oak doors and trim. It's easy to set the nail head countersink depth with the twist of a dial. I liked the trigger "safety switch". I also like the two nailing modes - single shot and rapid fire. The guns did not jam once unlike my old fuel cell powered "Bammer" that I sarcastically nicknamed the "Jammer". The fuel cells for the "Bammer" are obsolete and I needed a cordless finish gun alternative to the Bammer. This Makita was a good choice for most but not all trim uses.

When it came to the 3/4" Ash trim, it was hit or miss and about 1/3 of the 2" nails were not set and protruded 1/8" or so even with the depth dialed to the max. This gun shoots 18 gauge nails which is good and bad. It's good because it leaves a very small nail hole that is easy to fill but it's bad with dense hardwoods like ash because the nails didn't drive all the way and hand setting 18 gauge nails with a nail set and hammer is a real pain. I wound up using my air powered 16 gauge compressor powered Senco nailer for the ash baseboard because I can dial the pressure up and not have to hand set any nails.

Overall, the Makita XNB01C works well for light to medium use and it will run a long time on a fresh battery. I put in all 13 doors with one battery. The Makita is handy for quick repairs where pulling out the compressor and running the hose is a pain. Don't expect the Makita to work everywhere as my experience with the 3/4' ash trim demonstrated.

It has saved countless trips up and down the stairs
I punch out prefab cabinets and it requires just a few nails. This is the answer.
