Not Makita's best effort.
Not entirely useless, but not a real general purpose blower either. Good for blowing chips and sawdust from around equipment and small project work, but that's about it. I have a large variety of Makita 18 volt tools and bought this as an inexpensive add on.
Love the system but this tool is pretty weak.

Electric blower is handier than my Stihl gas blower. Gas is either gone or too old to risk using.

I purchased the Makita 18V LXT 3.0 Ah Cordless Lithium-Ion Blower (Bare tool) to replace an off brand cordless blower I used to blow dust and leaves out of my garage and front porch, it wasn't good for anything else. I chose the Makita since I already have a lot of the 18V LXT tools and plenty of batteries. When I received the shipment my first thought was "how can it fit in such a small box?" After unpacking it was clear this unit is quite compact, but, as it turns out, I was very impressed with the power of this blower. At a third of the size, the Makita is much more powerful than my old one, even when it's batteries were new. The variable speed is a definite plus, now I can blow the dust off my workbench without blowing my tools away. At full blast I can now clear larger areas such as the driveway. Of all the cordless blowers I have tried, the Makita is by far the best. If you want a GOOD cordless blower, I can highly recommend this product.

Compact, powerful, and perfect
This little guy is impressive, so compact that when you first open the box you seem a little worried about how it'll do. Once you put a battery to this blower all of that concern goes away. I love using this to clean up sawdust and dirt from my shop floor. That is if I can get it out of my wife's hand long enough to use it. She loves to tidy up our side walk and patio with this tool.

Will this work with the BL1815 18V Lithium-Ion batteries that I use with my Makita power drill LXFD01?
None on Aug 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, BL1815 will work however the run time at the high blower setting may be
somewhat limited as this is a 1.5 amp hour battery. You may want to consider
getting a higher amp hour battery at some time, perhaps the 4.0 amp hour or
even a 5.0 amp hour.
Is there an adapter to blow up my raft?
Dan on Jul 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is not a compressor. This is like a very small leaf blower that you can use to clean your power tools from dust or blow small amounts of leaves. It wouldn't be able to blow against anything giving resistance, it would probably just burn out immediately if you tried.
If you want to inflate something, you need a compressor.
It looks as though the blower could be converted into a vacuum cleaner. Can it?
David on Feb 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, there is a optional dust bag that you can put on the outlet end of the blower. Just attach the hose to the inlet and you're set. My guess would be only fine dust to be picked up, nothing like a shop vac.

can you purchase replacement parts for this product? I Have this blower and use frequently around house, yard, RV and LOVE it! It is lightweight and portable with plenty of power. However, the little plastic band that holds the rubber nozzle in place has broken and I need a replacement.
MamaG on Jun 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Please contact Makita directly at 800-462-5482 for parts
What size is it? How much does it weigh? What is the size & cost of the battery?
Barbara on Jun 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: 6.4 x 12.7 x 7.2 inches ; 3 pounds. The battery to be used would be the BL1830 3AH battery that currently retails for $99.00
