Feels like a big car with a small engine but loaded with features.
I bought the Karcher KARNK2000 based on experience with an earlier one I bought in 1998 and have been using or loaning for years. It’s small and rugged and with the older style twist nozzle making for easy soap dispensing, (What happened to that?) It also came with a turbo nozzle and a soft brush with the weighted hose in a jug of liquid soap. This new one replaced my Husky 1650 psi I gave to my son thinking the Karcher 2000psi would be far more powerful. Not so… yet it has some really nice features.
PROS:
Storage of cord and hose,
Dual on board selectable soap tanks
Good wheels and attractive appearance
Long power cord / long hose
Doesn't tip over
Quiet
Sturdy
CONS:
Horrible new steel//brass quick disconnect nozzles. What a crappy idea. Be sure they're on tight or they WILL FLY OFF and break something, possibly someones teeth, a window in your home or car. These nozzles are a real safety hazard. They often snap upon insertion as if they're securely attached but FLY out when you pull the trigger and eject with a lot of force. Seriously...they are heavy and will dent your car or chip the paint. Be sure and point it in a safe direction when you first apply pressure.
It is not as powerful as my 8 year old $119 Husky1650 and cleans a smaller area at a time. It doesn't even feel any more powerful than my old Karcher.
It's as heavy/bulky as some small gas models and not something the average woman can lift or handle easily. Putting it in the trunk? Forget it.
It doesn't really effectively clean a spot bigger than 2 inches making it too time consuming for a driveway and doesn't dispense enough water to quickly rinse. These stupid “Quick Disconnect” nozzles take so long to get to and change that soap starts drying in hot sun before you can get to them… requiring you to carry them everywhere to keep from constantly going back and forth.
I'm not sure if the low GPM water flow reflects the EU's obsession with water conservation and electrical consumption or it’s just the limits of technology and demarcation between the electric/gasoline product lines but this unit is big for the little power it has. It feels like a big Cadillac loaded with luxury features and a V6 engine. May be the ceiling of what 120V electric washers can do.
Sorry Karcher I really wanted to like this 2000PSI based on great past experience hoping it would be the last power washer I would buy and if my wife hadn’t thrown the box away I would be exchanging it for a gasoline model. Karcher of course.
