Stunning Victory Over Evil Lawn
My last gas mower weighing at least several tons is now sitting in front of our house with a sign that reads "Free Mower". Someone will certainly snag it within a day or two...poor sucker. It was the last gas tool I owned and I'll never own another. This mower (2500502) has it all: super light, nimble 10" rear wheels, easy start, and hey - what happened to the NOISE? Oh yeah...don't forget the excellent cutting with the power surge feature via brushless motor, plus 2 batteries, fast charge, bag or mulch plus side discharge, etc. If the Jetsons had a lawn they'd be cutting it with this baby. Worked perfectly from day one. If it lasts, that's the thing...if it lasts, it'll be the best light to medium duty mower in the world. Sez me. GreenWorks has quite a few models available from corded to cordless, 16" to 20"+, 2 in 1 and 3 in 1, etc. This one had exactly the mix of features I wanted. Very pleased to have found it.

Just the right size.
I have a 10,000 s.f. lot in Phoenix. About half of it is Berumuda that is just starting the growing season (not thick yet). Cut it all in about 50 min. and used about 45 percent of the 4ah battery. Only used it twice. I hope when the grass gets thicker I'll be able to do it all with the 2 - 4ah batteries.

Worked for ten minutes then died
Easy out of the box setup. Battery charged quickly. Started right up and was pretty quiet. Mowed one strip turned the corner, and it started making a grinding sort of noise. Mowed to the next turn and died. Nothing jammed underneath. Re-started, ran for about ten seconds then died again. Re-checked everything. Took out battery and key. Replaced. Tried again. Same result. Called help line and they concluded that it must be s bad circuit board. Called customer service and was offered a replacement but I was so mad I said forget it and just returned it. Return process was went smoothly. UPS picked it up and I was refunded promptly. Just got a $399 Ryobi cordless and it mowed the whole front yard, hit a high patch of grass, quit and now won't start again. Going back to gas engine. These cordless ones are too delicate.

Two questions:
1. I see the same 2500502 model listed as having two 4ah batteries and having one 2 ah and one 4ah. Which does it actually come with?
2. I like everything about this except the cutting height. Why in the world would anyone produce a mower with a maximum cutting height of only 3"????
Eric on Apr 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Mine came with 1 large and 1 small battery.
Re cutting for lawns, not hay fields. The cutting height range is excellent.
Does this come with two 40V G-Max 4.0 Ah Lithium-Ion Batteries as stated in your listing specs or does it come with one 4.0 Ah and one 2.0 Ah as stated in Greenworks mower specs?
Richard on Apr 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Mine came with the large and small battery. I think there is a slightly different (more$) model that does come with the two large batteries.
How much floor space does it need for storage?
TAV on Jun 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I just took my tape measure out to the shed to check for you. Take off the grass catcher and fold up the handle and you could roll it into a space 22" wide by 32" deep. I've seen ads for some mowers that will tilt up and sit on their backsides (so to speak) which would be the 22" wide by less depth...but then I don't think that model has the digital brushless tech this model does. This thing is also SUPER light yet very powerful. I LOVE it! Great mower. I hope it works out for you.
is this self propelled?
Eddie on Apr 18, 2015

predator on Oct 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Without battery it weighs 46 lbs., the 4.0 AH battery weights 2.6 lbs so with battery installed it will be just under 49 lbs.
