A little early yet for a full review
A little early yet for a full review, only used it for one day, but wow! I previously had a 10" old mitre saw, this thing knocks it's socks off. I'll re-review it after a little more use. Also bought the DWX723 Stand for it as well, with my old knees, it's a dream to work on the saw standing up instead of crouching down continuously.

Describe Yourself:
Professional
Consistent Performance
I've owned this saw and stand for over 2 years now and am impressed with its capabilities and consistent performance. I have renovated 2 houses, moving the saw and stand frequently. Back to the home shop for fine woodworking. Its accuracy is dependable. Check your set up, fine tune if needed, and it will not go out of sync. It works!

Awesome tool
Definitely one of the best tools in my shop. I use it for almost every project. When I bought it a few months ago it came with a stand. Dewalt has a reputation for quality and they do cost a little more than other brands but well worth it.

Great saw!
Purchased this saw a couple years with the stand and use it daily. Easy to adjust, replace blades, etc. I sometimes travel with the saw and can easily detach from the stand and carry each independently.

What is the big difference between the 780 and the cheaper 782?
ziggy on Sep 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I just called DeWalt. The 780 has the lighting system built-in, the 782 does not. Also, some retailers include the $199 stand bundled with the 780.
I am considering purchasing a 12" Dewalt mitre saw, MODEL (#DEWNDWS780). Could you tell me what "DEWN" that precedes "DWS780" stands for? "Thank You"
Scott on Jun 12, 2016

can you add laser beam to dewalt DWS 780 or recommend another saw
Rick on Mar 4, 2013
BEST ANSWER: why would you want to? The shadow system shows up even in direct sun as I recently found. the shadow system is always indicating blade location, while lasers are independent from blade and must be readjusted for each blade.

What is the difference between a Double Bevel Sliding Miter Saw and a Dual Bevel Sliding Miter Saw?
David on Sep 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Double Bevel and Dual Bevel is the same, just different terminology.
Just bought the DWS780 because it is considered to be Dewalt's best and newest miter saw and I have always trusted Dewalt's quality. The truth is, I never would have spent $600 on this saw if the $200 stand did not come with it. I have not used the saw yet but I am finding that the glider feels very smooth. Is that because i am not cutting wood with it or did i just get a saw that was made better than many others are complaining about? The saw I was going to buy was the 716, 12" without the slider for $349. I paid $600 for the slider but if the slider is an issue, maybe it needs to go back to the store. Any ideas if corrections have been made to this saw gliding system or am I just lucky?

BEST ANSWER: Please contact the manufacturer direct at 1-800-433-9258 for technical assistance.
