good for my use.
hard to take apart, blade change, same as all other stanley knifes. you extend the blade to the max and press the buttom to the left of the end of the knife and pull it out, flip the blade or change it

Inserting blade
...is really hard. Finally got it to work by making sure that the tab was pushed FULLY forward, past the point where it naturally clicks and seems like it should stop, and then I was able to work the blade in.

Useless without a blade
Can't get the blade into the knife. So, unless you have a need for a bladeless knife, do not waste your money on this piece of garbage.

Works Great
Im not sure why everyone complains about the blade change out. I rocked 2 bedrooms using this knife and have probably changed a total of 20 blades in it without problem. If you read the instructions on how it functions, it is quite easy and fast to change blades. The extra blade storage is also easy to get to, you do not need any tools to do any of this, it is all done by hand and button presses.

Was a bit challenging but once I saw you just placed the blade in the front, it locked and was ridiculously simple. I worked this knife the first day I picked it up. Nice!!! Mabey better visual on the front

Blade release mechanism didn't work reliably out of package and got worse over time. Currently won't release blade at all. Poor design. Do not buy this product. I have many Dewalt products that work well so this is a disappointment.

Great if you need bladeless knife
Bkade locking mechanism does not work. I'm a tool and die maker so I think I'm qualified to use this tool. I watched the DeWalt video on installing blades. Mine is certainly defective, as are so many others mentioned in these reviews. Obviously poorly engineered and poor quality control if they ship so many defective units.

How do I install the blade properly on the dwht10046?
jt on Mar 1, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Slide the blade button on top all the way forward. Press the black button on the side of the knife in and load the blade in from the front of the knife. When the blade is in at the proper depth and you release the black button it will lock in place. Worked first time. You do not have to open the knife with an allen wrench as noted in the other response.
