Great Purtchase!!
I was a little hesitant to purchase for home use. Thought maybe it was over kill. How I was wrong! It is so handy with its mobility and built in stand it is worth every penny. Funny to think back, second guessing if I should have bought a less expensive unit. I am glad I bought this, no regrets!!!

Great saw once assembled.
The assembly instructions leave a lot to be desired, but once put together it's a nice saw to work with. The cart that converts to a stand is sturdy and easy to breakdown with good wheels. I'm a project guy saw was plenty powerful to rip PT 4x4's with no kickback.

Darn good design, but would prefer alum table
The DWE7491 is a well designed tool with much to be said for it. It is a good value and well worth the money. Particularly easy to breakdown, transport, and set up quickly. It esyablshes a very stable platform. My main wish would be for a table made of aluminum instead of plastic. I understand the argument behind the plastic. But i would accept a bit more weight and higher cost to get a metal table. The precision you can get is definitely good enough for the job site. Not always good enough for furniture quality work. Overall, happy with my purchase.

Great service from Tyler tool
This is more of a review for Tyler tool than the saw its self. The saw is fine the fence is great. Mine originally showed up with a mangled box and was missing almost everything but the saw. There was also many broken plastics on it. Tyler said no problem got me a replacement right away and a shipping label to return the other one. A+ service.

Very nice table saw
Arrived on time and exactly as described. Works beautifully. One minor bugaboo is the rip fence adjustment knob is set very tight at the factory and takes two people to adjust knob tension. It can easily be done, it's just hard to do by yourself.

First class

I recently read the reviews on a variety of table saws and based on that I selected a Bosch model. I was happy with the Bosch unit but I am starting a project where I am building between 85-100 drawers in an area that I built for my wife's craft and sewing interests. There are so many things that need organizing that building drawers in the unused spaces between the 24" on center trusses seemed like a great way to utilize that space.

I soon realized that the Bosch saw was limited to a maximum ripping size of 18". The drawer bottoms ranged from 20"-22" in width and up to 29" in length. So it was either try to cut the plywood for the bottoms with my circular saw or jig saw, neither of which was efficient or accurate. This limitation was compounded by my constantly having to switch between my Dado blade and the ripping blade so I decided to buy another table saw.

The DeWalt DWE7491RS was highly rated and had the ability to rip widths up to 32" which was important for my needs. The instructions were not as well illustrated as I am used to seeing and it took me longer than it should have to assemble the stand. Once I figured out what was needed, everything fit nicely and resulted in a very nice assembled product.

Storage of the accessories for this saw are extremely well thought out and everything has a place and is easy to access. Again the illustrations were lacking and I had to call three different DeWalt Service Centers until Jim at the Milwaukee Service Center finally helped me figure out where to store the Miter Gauge.

Now to operating the saw. The blade was dead on for 90 degrees to the table. The index for the size of the wood you wish to cut was also exactly correct! Everything about using this saw made me extremely glad I invested in an additional saw! I would rough cut a 4'X8' sheet of 1/4" plywood for the drawer bottoms to 21"X29" in a matter of a couple minutes.

Later when I would cut the bottoms to their specific size I could trust the sizing gauge completely and it was so easy to use. I can easily roll the saw outside and set it up in about a minute and then back inside when finished cutting the large pieces.

In the shop when ripping drawer sides and ends it a matter of seconds to change the fence position between the smaller range of 0"-24" and 8"-32". The more I use the saw the more I appreciate how much work went into the design. Clearly this is a saw that was designed by people who have used saws themselves. I am very pleased with it and would recommend it without reservation.

Good Jobsite and General Use Table Saw
After a lot of research I felt the DeWalt was the best built overall portable table saw. I was a bit concerned after reading a number of reviews regarding the table top not being flat so the first thing I did after receiving this saw was to check the flatness of the table and the squareness of the sawblade to the slots and to the guide. Everything on this unit was good. So far very happy with this purchase. Currently using to finish up hardwood flooring as part of a 1100 square foot addition I am putting in.

How do you tilt the blade?
Joe J on Nov 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is lever near the height adjustment wheel. Push that and it will unlock and you can swing the blade. Then lock it again. Be sure you fully lock the blade again. It is easy to bump it with your knee and the blade will move.

What is the difference between DWE7491RS and 7499GD besides price?
------- on Sep 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: . The two saws are identical except that the GD saw has an added safety feature called Guard Detect. If using the Guard Detect saw without the blade guard installed, you need to hit an additional over ride switch to get the saw to power on and an LED light will flash to warn you that the guard is not installed. It is newer than the RS model but does not replace it since many of the contractors that use these DeWalt saws choose to not use the blade guard and for them the guard detect feature is an inconvenience.
