HL 5402 twin stack compressor
I bought this compressor about 5 years ago when starting up a small roofing company to run one or two roofing nailers off of and it has done a great job in that context. More recently I have been using it in my garage to inflate bike tires and have no trouble getting it to inflate high- pressure road bike tires to around 100 psi.
The compressor is generally well-built, sturdy and portable.
My only complaint concerns the air filter which has a plastic housing which breaks easily if bumped - something that is all too easy to do given the filter's rather exposed placement. IMO, this is a definite weak link in the design of this unit.

It is a bit loud, but I worked around that issue by installing the compressor in a small attached shed which also contains my shop exhaust unit. Both feed into the shop through a hole in the shop wall which is sealed and insulated so sound is not a real issue. I haven't had time to put it to a lot of use, but so far i like it.

Long Life- mysterious ending...
I've had this compressor for 16 years with no complaints. Now, however, it has started to short out and I can't determine the cause. Overall, it's been a great investment.
