Never thinking I'd need the plunge router feature I bought a fixed base router a couple of years ago. This plunge router base was just what I needed to make a sign for the minister at church. The best thing about it is, I didn't have to buy a whole new router to make this sign. Getting back to the router. I didn't think the motor from my fixed base router would fit the plunge base. It fit just like it was made for it. The plunge feature is easy to operate. The settings for the depth of cut are simple to set and once it's set, it's away you go. There's not much to say in the cons list. It is a bit heavy, but that's probably due to the fact that I'm 72 and losing some muscle mass. Other than that, there's nothing bad to say about this base. Since I don't have a variable speed motor on my router, I bought a speed controller, so that solved that little problem.
