Describe Yourself:
Beginner- Casual Do-it-Yourselfer
bought for safety,convenience
I bought this trimmer to free myself from an electric cord and to use the wheel for edging, and figured it would be easier to use by rolling on the ground verses constantly holding up the trimmer, the trimmer goes through string FAST in the lower position, the height does not adjust up very much, does seem safer to use with 360 degree cover over trimmer, probably would not use for lawn mowing

Very nice tool
This 3 in 1 does a good job around my small yard. It works well as a mower, edger and trimmer.
It's light weight and easy to use.

Brilliant idea; so-so tool
Despite its blatant, pointless flaws, I immediately bought a second one, and use it to whack three adjoining 20 x 180 foot lots (180 is the up/down direction) with bricks, roots, stairs, rocks. What works: compared to a trimmer, you can easily keep the cut parallel to even a fairly steep slope… it eats less cord…easier on the arms…less risk of whacking trees… OK to run over the cord or over the edge of a walkway. Negatives: as the grass waste builds up, the base tends to pop loose, and won't pop in again until you run your fingers or a stick over the edges of where the trimmer and the base meet. The height adjusts by popping each wheel into an "up" or "down" position (channels on the base with springs) but these tend to re-set themselves repeatedly into the "down" position, with hilly / heavy use. So live with that, or be grabbing grass pulp for that, too. When the base unclips, if you're on a hill, you'll be chasing the base down the hill. And the base only works with a single B&D model, which uses the lightest weight of line.

These would be such easy fixes: 1. a seal on the interface and/ or a deeper lip and heavier clip. A brake or wheel lock that unlocks only when the base is clipped into the trimmer. A locking clip on each wheel, so they stay at the height you choose. And above all, a base that works with a heavier weight trimmer, or a trimmer that accepts one of the after-market modifications (cutting bars or super cord). Do that, and a regular lawnmower will be obsolete for a lot of people.

In short, wheels on a trimmer is a great idea--not only for small lots, but for "difficult" lots. I really hope they upgrade in the next model. But if they do fix all of these easy fixes, it will cut into their lawnmower market, so I'm not holding my breath. For now, as much as I don't like the problems, I consider this my most essential yard tool.

Light and only for the small lawn
used to cut a 12x16 fescue lawn. it will get the job done but not as manicured as I would of liked. It uses a plastic base that feels flimsy and I am not sure how long it will last. I am not a fan of this "mower"

It's like vacuuming your lawn
I use it for my postage stamp size townhouse lawn. Since it is corded, it is like I am vacuuming my lawn, slowly moving along as I trim the grass. The unit detaches from the base easily to allow you to trim along the wall of the house or the fence. I've only used it a couple times so I don't know how long it will last but it seems to be built OK.
