So easy, even the wife can use it.
Bought it about a month ago. I haven't used it yet but the wife and daughter have and they love it. That says it all.

7.5 amp trimmer
Purchased trimmer last month. So far I have been happy with it. I have a large yard and half way thru trmming, my old battery powered trimmer with two separate power packs would die. The electric cord is a pain but the cutting power and ability to do my whole yard on the same day is greatly. appreciated. My only concern is what I read about the trimmer having a short life, and possible problems with trimmer.

Good product improvement on the GH1000
This string trimmer does what it is supposed and is easier to use than the GH1000 it replaces.

Uses to much line
I inherited a 14" Grasshog when my wife and I married. No matter what I do, the unit spits out line faster than I can rewind it.
I wouldn't recommend any unit that has automatic feed.

I live this string trimmer especially when you have back issues...the wheel is perfect so it can rest on the ground & your not holding it in the air. The only problem I'm having is w/AFS. The string ends up melting to the rest of the roll, once that happens the rest of the roll you will have issues with. It will not feed properly after that happens :(

Easy Handling Trimmer/Edger
Bought this recently used it 4 times once per-week, so far no issues works well. Powerful enough for basic edging & trimming. I don't think for more dense- higher growth better for basic lawn care. The trim line works okay no issues but appears to go fast, almost empty on my first roll after 4 usages..Overall good ! Had a B&D Grass-hog for 10 years before it died, this appears close to my new model..

Cannot change out the spool or replace the string
It works great until you run out of string, after that there is no way to change out the spool as it is attached to the spool cover, so you'd have to replace that entire assembly. I've owned other string trimmers that were dirt simple to change the string. The user manual is largely indecipherable.

My wife wanted a string trimmer to do the edges of our lawn. I thought she was kidding (you know the joke about the guy who buys his wife a vacuum cleaner for their anniversary), but she really meant it. She loves using it & tells me almost every time- it's lightweight and she is small so it works just fine for her.

Better than average
This is an affordable trimmer. It gets the job done decently. The edging seems to work very well (when using the sideways tilt, and the wheel helps guide it along edge of driveway, for example.
Nice that you don’t have to “bump” or “pull” cord when it breaks off (it auto-resets). However, the replacement cord spools can get costly, and no matter how many different positions I put the handle in, I can’t get it to fit comfortably to my stature (I’m 5’4”) without hunching over. Also, the cord pops out/unplugs easily, unless I wrap the cord around the handle and tie it.

The string keeps breaking right at the hub. Cannot trim over 5 to 8 feet without string breaking. It is wound correct because I buy new spools. Why is this happening and how can I get better results? I am ready to pitch the unit.
