Although I didn't expect it would! It does not replace the need for hand work to achieve scary sharp. The one thing I would caution about is trying to flatten the back of your chisel or plane iron. You should do it by hand unless it's so bad you don't think you can do it any harm.
Over all I think it worked prety well and would recomend it as a starting point.

I have always tried to sharpen Chisels and they always turned out badly. With this tool they are super sharp every time. It even helped fix the ones I had messed up very badly and they are like new (or better) now. Works on hatchets, lawnmower blades, Plane blades. Makes you and expert in a very short time. I have no idea why I didn't buy this long ago.
