Great for small property
Does the job. First cut takes time but after that, the next cuts are easier. Not a lot of power to trench so don't plan on doing a lot of that.

Troy Bilt Edger
This seems to be a solid performer. I've only used it once. This sure beats trying to use a string trimmer to get a nice manicured edge on my lawn. Troy Bilt has a good reputation, I only hope that I can vouch for it 2 years down the road.

Troy Built edger
This product is lightweight, easy to assemble. Very quick starting. I handled my edging problem handily. Never had a Troy Built item, I'm very surprised and satisfied.

What type of oil is used for this edger?
Papa George on Aug 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Small engine oil can be purchased at any hardware store or big box store.eg,.Lowes or Home Depot.
I purchased the edger from Lowes. The first one choked out as soon as I powered up the blade, even though it was not in the ground. Lowes replaced it. The second one ran fine until I started edging with it. After about 5 minutes, it started doing the same thing. The gas is fresh and was just purchased last week, have been running other lawn equipment on the same gas. Any ideas?
Bob on Jun 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: you are not mixing oil with the gas are you. This is a 4 cycle engine
which runs on gas only. Just a thought since you said you were using
the same gas you use on your other lawn equipment.

what type of blade is used on this model
Red on Apr 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The model of the blade is an Oregon 40-004
The edger ran so good for a long time. Lately it's problem after problem. Recently the edger has been stalling while I'm cutting,so I took the blade off and checked the belt which is fine, the shaft is working well.
There even times when it seems to have no power. Could it be over heating, carb: is shot or something else.
