      Comments about 18V 3 Ah Lithium-Ion Battery:

I like the lighter weight than my old Ni-Cad Batteries. They charge quicker and hold the charge longer. So I only need two batteries Vs. four Ni-Cads. I live and travel in an RV so I don't have a lot of extra room to store stuff.

        Comments about 18V 3 Ah Lithium-Ion Battery:

I have used EVERY battery power tool out there. None of their batteries will last like this battery. I work at a marina, and on a hot, hot day it will still hold its charge, and last. When the other batteries burned up, the Ridgid battery still worked. Even when it got really hot. And when I let it cool down, it still took a charge, and work just like new. No doubt this is the best battery for a person that works hard and needs their tool to work hard with them. My other power tools could not handle one summer. They are now on the shelve in my shop. Ridgid is the only battery power tool I will buy period.

          Comments about 18V 3 Ah Lithium-Ion Battery:

These 3.0 batteries put out more power and last longer. There are a lot of negative reviews on the Ridgid Batteries due to price and short life, but these batteries have lasted 5 years. The 3.0Ah is the difference.

          Great Price from CPO.

I have the Ridgid combo kit that uses the 18V 2.Ah battery. I see from FAQs that it will work in my existing tools. Is my current charger capable of charging this battery? My charger # is: 140276003

The charger model 140276003 is compatible with all Ridgid Ni-Cad slide batteries from 9.6-18 volt.

I have been using my 18v. Rigid tools since 2005 and I have 10 cordless tools none have failed me. The original Ni Cad batteries have all gone bad and I have switched over to 1.5 ah 2.0ah and 3.0ah Lo-ion batteries. The 3ah are the best so far and most durable.
If your current charger is for Ni-Cad batteries only then you need to change to a dual chemistry charger. The charger will say if it can do both types. If you have had your charger doing Ni-Cad batteries only then up might have to buy a new charger. It is worth it for the tools themselves do last a long time.
