It's perfect - read power requirements
The sales rep will ask you if you've checked your electrical service - as a service to you. Requires 200 amp panel with space for 3 40 amp breakers. It will draw a lot of current when activated. If you're used to a big tank, there is a slight learning curve to using it. Read the instructions on adjusting flow rate. An excellent product

Been using for 8 years in Ohio, LOVE IT!
We have used the Power Star AE125 for 8 years now and absolutely love it. It saves us 30.00 per month on our electric bill with a family of 5.

Understand, a traditional water heater turns on multiple times throughout the day and night to keep the water hot which uses electric. The tankless water heater only uses electric when you use the hot water. So if you go out of town for 3 days it uses no electric. A traditional would still use electric while you're gone.

We have a family of 5 in our home and by the 3rd person we would run out of hot water with a traditional water heater. Now, we have to force our kids to get out of the shower after 30 minutes because the water never gets cold.

We absolutely love it and would never live without one again!

works like a charm
when installing water heater the 8 gauge wires does'nt bend very well.hard to get them hooked into box.the heater does take alot of juice but i'm saving $30.00/mo on elec. bill so it was worth it for more tank.i use it for my whole house.

these heaters are terrible they do not keep up they go hot then cold you can not return if you have installed it even if it does not work when you call tech support they have you limit the incoming water, we found that the water would get very hot then cold we could not find a happy medium by restricting the water bottom line is i,m out [$] dollars plus the upgrade to a 200 amp service which cost me 700 plus 249 we spent buying a regular water heater almost 1650 to get what i could of had for 250 terrible, terrible, terrible

Great for small household
Easy installation compared with gas unit. no venting to run. I found air conditioning whips that had all the wiring i needed for a third of the price of buying 8 gauge wire and conduit separately. only a useful suggestion if you can mount within 4 feet of your breaker box. We have issues with running hot out of multiple places at once, ie shower and kitchen sink. We are a household of 2 so this is rarely an issue. We travel a bit so this is definitely saving on utilities since we are not heating water when we are not home.

AWSOME product, especially cost to value
I bought it to replace PROPANE. I know it will be cheaper to use. I bought the reconditioned product. It cost me approximately 500.00 to install after purchase price. I bought 3-40 amp breakers, wire, etc, and paid the electrician to install them. Problem we ran into was I needed a 125 amp breaker added for those 3-40 amp breakers to draw from, which was no problem. I expected it. The water seems hot enough, now, in the summer. I believe it may cool off some in the winter IF I understand how it works, but it should still be fine. Hot water available as long as you want it. It is new. At this point, I am totally pleased with my purchase. My advice: Make sure you know if you have the breaker capability and capacity you need before you start, so you will not be disappointed when you have to call the electrician. And, price electricians in advance, telling them exactly what you need done. I ran the wire from the water system to the electric box and mounted the unit. All the electrician had to do was install the breakers and additional box I needed and connect them. That was 300.00, but electricians may price out differently in your area.

I installed this unit because we have a VERY large bath tub, and our 80 gal.water heater was not enough to fill this tub. I thought about this big water heater running all day just to fill this big tub with hot water once a day, so it seems like this will be a good thing. On the negative side, it is a challange to get the water temp. regulated to a temp. that is good for all the uses in the house. I had a gas model in my last house, and that was a much better unit. If you keep adjusting the water valves and temp. setting you can get this electric unit where there is not much hot, cold jumping around, but it is a challange to do so. So if you are not a do it yourselfer this may not be for you. But the endless hot water is GREAT.

Endless Whole House Hot Water
This is my second unit. First one was brand new and worked great til water froze and cracked the holding tank. (My fault, was away from the house during a deep freeze w/ temps constantly below freezing.) Decided to got with a refrubish one for cost savings. Works like a new one. Took less than 30 minutes to reinstall. Intial install took longer b/c of new wiring and plumbing. Time consuming, but achievable. I would suggest to install two shut-off valves, one on each side of the inlet/outlet connectors. Makes it easier to adjust the gallons/minute adjustment to make the AE-125 work at it's best. Hot water takes a second to warm up, but it never ends. Filled up a tub with about 40 gallons of hot water for a hot bath and then turn around a take a hot shower to rinse off. Good product.

How do I contact the makers of Power Star. Mine just gave up the ghost. I purchased it several years ago; mine had 3 copper tanks and went defective almost immediately. It was replaced with the two plastic tank unit you are probably selling now.

Even then I was an old man. The water heater I purchased before Power Star was still working fine at over 25 years, according to my ex-wife, and at 15% the cost. But Power Star failed almost immediately. I purchased the expensive lemon, because being relatively poor, I wanted to save money on power and also wanted to not have to again purchase in this lifetime. Well a little less than 10 years has past, and the unit that replaced my 3 copper tank gem split at the seam on one of the two plastic heating pots.

Unfortunately, my extremely low retirement has not increased with the cost of living, so I am even poorer now. I now have to heat my water on the stove, to wash and bathe and cook. I can't believe Bosche made it. They do quality.
