Very Cool.I MEAN HOT!!!!!
2 adults and 9 children in our family,so planning showers n baths WAS always an issue. But not any more. I have to say I am just flat out happy as I can be with this unit. And this is a reconditioned unit!!So it IS performing as good as new.
Common sense and skill are required to install the unit properly.Reading the owners manual and trully understanding what you read so that you know how it affects performance and thereby be able to decide whether or not the unit fits your needs and expectations AND capabilities,is something you should do BEFORE you buy.For instance;flo rate adjustments are very important to your perceived proper operation of the unit.If your not installing the unit your self, you can't expect the contractor installing your unit to stay at your house for hours and hours adjusting your system. He is paid to install it NOT tweak it.For me the tweaking is easy and i installed it my self and all of my expectations have been exceeded.I am very, very happy with my purchase. Now this unit is really suitable for one major application at a time or 2 or 3 small ones but that is the way my family uses it so it fits our style.I will make an update reveiw a few months from now and give my opinions and personal experiances with this unit and winter time use(I had to turn the unit down caus water was too hot on high setting). That will be a tough test as I am on the border where ground water temp might cause the need for a larger unit according to the supplied map.
So to conclude;Based on price, performance, and personal experience with the unit,I must highly recommend the unit.I am impressed!

Smart, Economical & ENDLESS Hot Water!!
I would recommend this unit to any one who is replacing a hot water holding tank (conventional water heater). This unit is very easy to install and works great. I was worried when I bought this that it would not produce enough hot water at a shower flow rate, but contrary to my worries it works great. My wife and I live in a town home and the water heater was in the garage taking up space and heating the garage up a lot during the day, but now no more heat and I gained some of my floor space back. Great unit I would recommend this to everyone. My father is replacing his 2 hot water heaters with these units this week. The great thing is with the reconditioned units is they still carry the BOSCH 10 year warranty and at an unbeatable price.

The units work well for what they are designed for but it does not last very long and is expensive to repair, lost 2 units in 4 years. Had to wait almost a week without hot water trying to get satisfaction from the company.

ITS A NICE UNIT TO DISPLAY OR BRAG ABOUT AS FAR AS LOOKS, BUT THIS UNIT ISNT STRONG ENOUGH TO GET A NICE HOT SHOWER IN THE WINTER. FOR 500.00 DOLLARS PLUS COST OF WIRING AND TIME... IM OUT OF A [$]. MAYBE I SHOULDVE STUCK WITH GAS AND BEEN HAPPY. IF POWERSTAR HAS A SOLUTION TO THE HOT WATER DEMAND ISSUE. PLEASE SHARE IT!!!!

Exactly As Advertised
Had to replace 50gal tank heater. We have two full bathrooms, kitchen and laundry. Only two at home most of the time, but frequent weekend houseguests up to 4 at a time.

Chose the AE115, because the AE125 requires 3 40amp circuits--more than we could spare. This unit is proving more than adequate. It appears to be the highest flow rate for the amperage of any units we researched (more than I want to admit) We've run two showers at once for 15 minutes with hot water to spare. (Time is really not an issue if the supply is adequate.) We have the unit set at about 65% on the heat dial.

In our farthest bathroom, it always took 60 seconds for hot water to reach the shower. The on-demand unit adds 30 seconds to reach full temperature. We think that is a trivial difference.

The unit was simple to install. (I use Sharkbite fittings on copper pipe instead of solder joints.) The hardest part was replacing a single 30amp 240v breaker and 10awg wire with two 40 amp breakers and 8awg wire. If you're locating in the same place as the old tank, your electrician can use the old wire to pull the new one(s), and as that's the time consuming part of the job, it should not be expensive to have it installed by a professional.

Regarding others' commnents on temperature fluctuation, please note: if the temp control is turned up too high, then you will find yourself mixing more cold water at the faucet to get a comfortable temperature. When you do that, you reduce the flow rate through the water heater to the point where the second element will cut in and out trying to maintain your setting. With only two elements to turn on and off, it will necessarily cause temperature fluctuation. Turn the control down so that the water that reaches the farthest bathroom is only slightly hotter than you can use without any cold mixed in, and the temperature will remain constant.

We've only had this for a little over a month, so I can't speak to durability, but it is performing beyond our expectations, and a bargain at the price.

Works until it Doesn't
In 2008, our 36 unit complex converted to these units as part of a complete remodel.
within a year they began failing, most from heating elements burning out (which the Bosch blames on our water quality, which is Atlanta city water). There have also been failures of the circuit boards. To date, we have had at least 12 of the 36 units fail. We have been able to reduce the failure rate by restricting the water flow and adjusting them to a lower temperature. The best thing that I have to say about these is that they save space and you do get hot water quickly and never run out. Wouldn't recommend due to failure rate. We continue to replace them as they are the largest electric unit available that we have the capacity to operate, and going back to a traditional setup would require extensive re-plumbing as well as a new closet to house it. IF YOU DO CHOSE TO PURCHASE THIS ITEM, I WOULD RECOMMEND CPO OUTLET AS THEIR PRICING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXCELLENT. ALSO, THE UNIT THAT IS NOW SHIPPING HAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CIRCUIT BOARD THAN THE ORIGINALS AND SO FAR HAS NOT FAILED US.

Satisfied owner
I have installed this unit in my home. I have a small house so space is at a premium. The unit is compact, relatively light weight, and easy for the typical do-it-your selfer. I like the idea of the endless hot water as once and a while I like to take a 30-minute hot shower. Try that with a tank. The unit takes a little bit to heat up, but not long enough to warrant concern. I have enjoyed the use of this product for about 2 years now, and my energy consumption is about an average of 32% lower than past years with no change in my usage habits. If sized properly, these units work very well.

AE115 Small Unit Performs Flawlessly
This demand heater has worked flawlessly for me for over two years. It is installed as the only water heater in a guest house. It is only required to supply hot water to a shower, or one sink at a time. It provides hot water within about 90 seconds. I have it set so the outlet temperature is about 107 F in the winter months. I live in TX so the lowest inlet cold water temperature is >43 F. It works great for the intermitten use that it has seen.

Rediculously easy install
I am not a plumber, electrician, contractor, etc. Just your average handy/not-so-handy homeowner. This unit was operational in under an hour from when I took it out of the box, which allowed me to win a bet with my wife.
