Freight Orders

Freight deliveries require a delivery time be scheduled and someone must be present at the time of delivery to inspect and sign for the merchandise. A representative from the freight carrier will call the phone number entered at checkout to schedule the delivery.

Liftgate Service

For freight deliveries, you have the option of adding a liftgate to your delivery. A liftgate is the device that lowers a product from the truck to ground level.

CPO recommends adding liftgate service for freight deliveries exceeding 100 lbs if you do not have a loading dock or fork lift at the delivery address. Additional charges may apply. The liftgate option will be presented during the checkout process.

Please note that liftgate service only ensures the product is removed from the truck. We recommend you have the additional help of two to four people to move the product to its desired location because drivers are not required to assist.

Requesting liftgate service after ordering may result in additional charges and delays.

Still the
I read plenty of reviews about this saw and every other band saw on the market before I finally purchased. Many Powermatic reviews complained about the blade tracking after the riser block installation so I was hesitant to even install mine, but I did and everything lined up perfect the first time, and blade tracking, well, perfect, what else can I say? The extended height with the riser block installed makes for unlimited possibilities. The table set up was easy but time consuming since I did take my time to be sure everything is absolutely perfect, which demonstrates Powermatic's excellent engineering and close tolerances. I have other tools that were the "more affordable" brand and among other things, you can see the difference in engineering tolerances. Powermatic's motor is more efficient than most of the competition and runs smooth and quiet. Electrical is not a problem in my shop but It's nice run off of 110v rather than 220v when I can. Considering what comes with the saw as "standard equipment" which are "extra's" or "after market add-on's" for other manufacturer's, Powermatic definately sets the standard. The chip blower works great for me and I can't believe anyone would manufacture a band saw without a light! The FIVE year warranty is the best. The one and only draw back would be the tensioning of the belt which is a little bit of a challenge but not impossible. The blade tracking and the blade quides are all what one would expect from a high-end product like Powermatic. Some manufacturer's provide only one bearing for blade guides which is curious to me how well that would work with wider blades, but once again, standard equipment for Powermatic to provide guides the full width of the blade. Dust collection is better than other tools I have. Considering all the features that come standard and the tighter engineering tolerances Powermatic is hands down the only way to go. Now that I have tools from other manufacturer's, and now a Powermatic tool in my shop, rather than settle for the "affordable" tool in the future, I will save my money to purchase only Powermatic for any other significant tool needs. There really is no question that Powermatic is the "gold standard." I would highly recommend this bandsaw over the competition.

Beginning to like the gold color
I was impressed with the quality look right out of the box. I got the riser block with it, installed it while putting the saw together. Instructions were clear with one exception,(it could have been me), putting the extension table on. Two things I do not like; 1. A quality piece of equipment should use metal knobs instead of plastic, and 2. I'm not impressed with the way the top blade guide attaches to the post with only the set screw. I have not tried any resawing, except playing with the blade that came with the saw which did not work very well. I have ordered a Timberwolf, 3 tpi for that. But overall, I am very pleased with it and it is a far cry above the Craftsman I have been using. I would highly recommend this saw, especially with the promo going on, a great buy.

Cons

Deflection is non-existence
Most bang for the buck. Free riser, thats good, quite running. Saw arrived within days after I ordered it. Everything was well packaged and all the parts were there. Don't kid yourself, this saw is heavy. I'm 70 yrs old and I should have asked for help, but too stubborn and proud. Taking the saw apart was not bad, but trying to put the riser in and then reinstall the top was a balance act by itself. I ordered the mobile base and its a must item if you have a small shop. The base is one component that has the motor, its heavy also and should be installed in the mobile base first. The location of the motor was my biggest grip. It was difficult and time consuming to get the belt on and adjust the tension. Still not sure if I did it right, only used the saw once so far, and it cut wood with no drag. A light on a band saw is a must for me, but the shell or cover of the light is way too big. I need my light right on or as close to the blade as possible. The other thing I found was the fence was cheap. Now don't get me wrong, I love this saw, its the most expensive power tool I own. But when you have to put a fence together on a quality saw as the Powermatic, thats just wrong. OK now the good part. I also own a Porter Cable 14" saw. Just by looks, sound, quality of fit and finish of the Powermatic this saw is a Caddy next to a Pinto.
I spent the next day adjusting everything again. The balance of the wheels, the tracking and Carter blade tension, roller blade guides, man I died and went to heaven. I wanted to tension the blade by looking at blade wobble.
I had the guides loose and at the fullest extension and would loosen and tighten the blade tension knob, with a 3/8' blade, and never could get the blade to wobble. My other saw would wobble as soon as you released the blade guides. I have not resawed anything as yet, but have full confidence
this saw will perform as expected. I really hate to get it dirty again, but this saw is made to use. I ordered my vacuum connection and have them installed and ready to hook up to my dust collector. It also comes with a table extension. My only question here is, why not make it as one big table? It maybe some engineering thing and I just don't see it. Anyway, love the saw, you will too.

Heart of My Shop
I have had a Sears for yrs and finally bit the bullet and purchased this Powermatic PM 2000. It takes me back forty yr to when I was in school in wood working class. This is without a doubt a top of the line cabinet saw. After setting up the saw it was dead on with the first cut. If you are looking for a good saw here it is.

Pros

Good Value
I've had this saw over 1-1/2 years. I bought it primarily to resaw lumber. Mine came with the 6" riser. If you plan to use one i recommend you do so before buying a bunch of blades. After shopping around, with the features included with this saw, it was the cheapest on the market. The quick release tensioner works well however i did have to repair the threads on the adjustment knob recently. The maybe a result of adjusting with it in the tensioned position? The fence that came with the saw was not squarer. I called Powermatic and they quickly replaced it. With the 6" riser the light is not in the best spot, i will be looking to relocate mine. When I purchased the saw I planned to use it occasionally. However the saw works so well I use it all the time. I set the fence to match the drift of the blade and get impressive results. It works so well i rarely use my table saw anymore for ripping. It cuts veneer nicely and consistently at 1/32. Blade changes are easy and the carter guides are easy to set.

Powermatic 14 Band Saw
Great for fine cuts, first time re-saw worked well, lining up motor was a challenge, needs two people. The light, and other extras are well worth the price for this band saw. Top quality.

Good fit. Easy to assemble but it is heavy and a second person to help lift the top part would be helpful. Did not come with a user manual enclosed. Very pleased.
