Home shop use, (hobbiest)
Sleek, looks great in my shop
Should come with starter tools and chuck
Delivery was a snap, definitely need a means to unload from truck and help to move. (very heavy)
You can read many reviews about this lathe on the web, but, I would like to say the customer service from CPO was excellent!
Had small issue with lift gate delivery charges and they corrected it immediately with the shipper and called me to confirm. Plus I didn't have to constantly call for my order status CPO keep me up to date through many e-mails. I'm a serious woodworking hobbyist and have purchased several large machines and CPO's service is rated highest on my list.
I'm still trying to find out what it won't do.
I like the stability and reliability of this lathe
I began turning on a 1642 lathe with 1.5 hp, and wanted something a bit larger and a little more powerful. The PM3520b is the hands-down value in the 20" plus category of lathes on the market today that are set up for everything from spindles to platters and in-between. Adjustable headstock makes bowl hollowing easy vs fixed headstocks, variable speed works great and displays actual speed for quick reference and adjustment. Plenty of ballast with the cast iron and easy to add more. Lots of great options for this lathe too.
Would be nice to have a stainless ways option...but that's such a small nit, not really a huge issue if you keep ways lubricated with lubricating spray or a paste wax.
Best value around, you won't be disappointed with this machine! If you plan on nothing bigger between centers than 20"...this is the lathe to own.
