Freight Orders

Freight deliveries require a delivery time be scheduled and someone must be present at the time of delivery to inspect and sign for the merchandise. A representative from the freight carrier will call the phone number entered at checkout to schedule the delivery.

Liftgate Service

For freight deliveries, you have the option of adding a liftgate to your delivery. A liftgate is the device that lowers a product from the truck to ground level.

CPO recommends adding liftgate service for freight deliveries exceeding 100 lbs if you do not have a loading dock or fork lift at the delivery address. Additional charges may apply. The liftgate option will be presented during the checkout process.

Please note that liftgate service only ensures the product is removed from the truck. We recommend you have the additional help of two to four people to move the product to its desired location because drivers are not required to assist.

Requesting liftgate service after ordering may result in additional charges and delays.

    Comments about 20 in. by 34-1/2 in. 1 or 3 Phase 2-Horsepower 230V Lathe:

I received this lathe 3 days after ordering. Pallet jacked to garage where my son and I opened the box, categorized all parts, removed head, tail, and banjo, carted the bed around the house through the grass to basement, went back to garage to transport the rest of the lathe parts, reassembled in my new shop, and had it ready to plug in and go. Total elapsed time-1:20! I was impressed by CPO's excellent service. I am impressed with everything I've encountered with this lathe so far. It's solid, stable, and operates so smoothly. I'm drooling at the potential projects I'm concocting for this machine. Downside...anybody out there need a 4' pallet?

I am an avid woodworker and have used a variety of different equipment over the years This is a top notch product. It is heavy duty and will not vibrate much, even with a large, unbalanced load. It is powerful enough for tough jobs but handles small items with ease.

            Q:

I am very interested in this lathe. I came across an indication that it is belt driven. I have a belt driven lathe and the noise and vibration due to that belt are 1 reason I am looking for a new one. Does this lathe use a drive belt? If so how much trouble is it to change when it inevitably wears out? And how much do the belts cost.

              A:

Yes, the drive system on this item is the Poly V belt, inverter drive. In the manual that you get with this unit there is a 12-step process instructing you on how to change the belt if it goes bad. Unfortunately, we do not sell the belts so you will need to call Powermatic directly to get pricing for that. Their phone number is 800-274-6848.

JPW runs a few sales throughout the year on their products. You will just need to monitor the website to see when those promotions go live.

A skilled woodworker could build a "floor lift" around the lathe . . to adjust the wheelchair and person in it up to a comfortable working level.
