Help in assembling cabinet carcass by providing headless pin nail aiding the glueing up process.
Used to stake glue joints for additional strength. Use on furniture or equal where wood is dry and easy to split or break. The small diameter of pin, quality and manufacturer reputatuon for a good product is reason for purchase. Have several Porter Cable nail guns which have proven to be reliable.
I just received the PC pin nailer. Bought it because of the reviews and the cost from CPO. Free shipping and a rebate off as well. I shot it about 10 times so far into 3/4" Paduak. No problem and it sunk them just below flush. If it will sink them in this wood the other hardwoods should never be an issue. After I've used it for awhile I'll update the review.
I bought this to use on a project with basement windows where swinging a hammer would be difficult. It will also come in handy when I resume building furniture. I'm very impressed with it's ease of use and power.
I am familiar with Grex 650 2" pin nailer which I have used in the shop for years and this purchase was intended to provide the same level of consistancy and capability (although only up to 1 3/8") that I am familiar with. Since I don't have the experience of shooting hundreds of various pins I can't speak to the long term reliability. However, so far I am very impressed with what I have purchased, at half the cost of the Grex. Pins shoot cleanly and sink properly and jobs went smoothly. That is what a tool is all about.
