Comments about Plunge Base for 690 Series Routers:

I recently purchased an after market fluting jig that ended up requiring this particular brand plunge base. Since I already had the router with a "D" handle base it was just a matter of buying this base and switching the motor. Since the locking cam screw is difficult to get at with the supplied allen wrench, I went ahead and purchased a 5/32" "T" Handle that made the changing out operation a lot easier. I also purchased and modified from a multiple to single outlet 14GA ten foot extension cord since the motor cord for the "D" Handle setup is only about a foot long. Ten foot 16GA single outlet cords are sold, but I wanted more amp capacity.

Comments about Plunge Base for 690 Series Routers:

I have had mine for over 20 years now and it still works fine. Setting up the step adjustments takes a bit of time but then any precise set-up does. It handles easily and is a good solid tool. A dust collect fitting would be nice though.
