Q:what is the difference between a product labeled biscuit jointer and plate jointer
A:They are the same item. Some manufacturers call them biscuit joiners and some plate joiners.
Q:I am interested in buying this but before I do, I need to know if the package includes both the 2 inch and 4 inch blades. The specifications list online seems to indicate it includes both blades. Them manual you provide online says the 2 inch blade is included with the tool. But other retailers offering the same product say I must buy the 2 inch blade separately.
A:The Porter-Cable 557 Deluxe Plate Joiner Kit #PCBN557 comes with the 4 inch Blade #5558. This blade is made for the #0, #10, and #20 biscuits. The 2 inch blade is sold separately and is used with the #FF biscuits.
A:This item included the 4 inch blade. The 2" blade would need to be purchased separately.
Q:what is the type number of this plate joiner?
A:All of the serial numbers in our warehouse show a 4.
