Comments about 7-1/4 in. Worm Drive Circular Saw:

So many products, including power tools, that once had a good reputation for quality with the trades people have gone to "homeowner quality" For some things that is OK and you save a bit of money. But for my saw I wanted a quality product. When I made my first cut of a large beam I almost giggled. This saw is so powerful it cuts wonderfully. Yes, a new blade probably helped but I am very happy with my purchase. As noted it seems pretty heavy, but that tells me it has real metal parts and hopefully will last a long time. Prior to this my only Milwaukee tool was a Hole Hawg and if this Saw performs as long and as well as that I will be happy for a long time.I have previously owned a Skill Saw, and a Dewalt worm drive. I purchased the Dewalt because it was lighter but the gears in the worm drive failed recently and I could not bring myself to buy the same thing again with no doubt cheaper materials this time around.
Buying this saw reconditioned was no real big deal to me. Reconditioned means someone bought it, used it a couple of times and returned it. I put more wear on it the first day and in a week it looks like any old saw anyway.

Comments about Milwaukee 7-1/4 in. Worm Drive Circular Saw:

Nicely designed saw with plenty of power. Cuts straight. Depth and angle adjustments are easy to make and the scales are marked which is a real convenience. Definitely on the heavy side but it is well balanced and easy to control.

The one design feature I don't care for is the Allen Wrench used to remove the blade nut. I am worried that the bolt will strip out over time. I think a conventional wrench would have been a better choice.

My only disappointment is the lack of a storage case. If I leave this in the back of my truck it will take a beating.

    Great skil saw. Blade on the left side helps you see better. Worm drive makes the saw heavier but runs better.

          The only difference between the two saws is the 6577-20 has a twist lock plug and the 6477-20 does not include the twist lock.

          All Milwaukee brand tools are manufactured in Mississippi. The official websites don't say where they are manufactured, but this is probably because the brand has been sold several times and now belongs to a Chinese company. Wikipedia claims that they are made in Mississippi and enumerates the different ownership changes for the brand.

      New Vs. Reconditioned

      Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.

      • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
      • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
      • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee;
        New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 60 days.
