Q:I have an Milwaukee #6117-30 grinder, its has had very little use, the armature threaded shaft broke at the 5MM nut. I am repairing it with a new armature and new 5mm nut. My question before reassembling, what torque is required on the 5mm nut, the small drive gear is not pinned or keyed, is the design intended -that the gear will slip - on the armature shaft ( to avoid breaking at the nut) as what did happen to me, seems like a poor design? ANY info would be appreciated.
