  • M18 18V Lithium-Ion Power Port (Bare Tool)

    Q:

Does this product actually hold a charge? If so, how many Ah? I assume it does not. It is a transformer from 18v to 5v USB, correct?
How many mA does the USB port provide?

It is just a transformer. You need to put it on top of a battery (m18) and then plug in a usb.

      A:

This is not a battery. It holds no charge and requires an M18 battery
      to operate.
This provides two outputs powered by an attached M18 battery: a USB
      power-only
jack and a jack for use with Milwaukee heated clothing designed for M12
      batteries.
Milwaukee does not state the current capacity of the USB port anywhere I
      can find.
I have read one customer comment that that it is only a 500mA port,
      while the M12
Power Port (a similar device but for use with M12 batteries) has a
      2100mA USB port.
Milwaukee does not state the voltage or current capacity of the heated
      clothing
      jack anywhere I can find, either. I don't know if it's a
      current-limited 12V
      output or a lower voltage.
Directing your question to Milwaukee is the only good reliable way to
      get a
      definite answer, I think.

No, this takes the 18 V DC battery and converts it to 5 V DC to charge a USB device. (And power a heated jacket)

      Answered on 6/1/2016 by Anonymous
    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

The power output of the USB port of this device is limited to only 10 to 12 watts of DC, . Any 'corded' tool would require well over 100 watts, as well as requiring 120 voltsAC. This will NOT work for your application as you describe it.

It is made specifically to work with the jacket. It has the same output as
      the jackets m12 adapter.

To answer your question, yes! This is what is used to use the M18 battery with Milwaukee's Heat Gear.

    HOW DOES M18 GET CHARGED
Asked on 11/23/2012 by joe from nyc

    • A:

The answers are not true. You can't just "plug the M18 into a wall." You need a separate charger to charge the M18. You can use the bottom dollar M12/M18 charger or there is a M18 Jobsite Radio that doubles as a charger.

The M18 plugs into an electrical outlet to charge.
