A battery powered grinder seems to be the last frontier for battery powered tools.
This grinder replaced an earlier Milwaukee V-28 (28 Volt) battery grinder which was a big dissapointment. The V-28 tool had good power but a VERY limited run time (we're talking 3 - 4 minutes here) on a battery charge.
The new M-18 Fuel Grinder is easily three or four times as good.
I use this for heavy metal grinding in sitations where a corded tool is less convenient. The M-18 Fuel grinder has just as much power as an 8 amp corded grinder and the run time on one battery charge is about 10 - 12 minutes.
Heavy metal grinding takes a lot of power and seems to be the most demanding job for a battery powered tool. While saws, drills and etc. battery tools seem to run for ever, grinding metal really taxes the battery system. The new M-18 Fuel grinder is at the head of the class in this category. It is a very well made tool and the ergonomics, including the paddle switch, are as good as they come.
