Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation introduces a new industry first - the HACKZALL M12 Cordless Recip Saw, a compact, lightweight saw designed for powerful, versatile cutting in tight spaces for virtually all tradesmen as they tackle plumbing, electrical, remodeling and HVAC applications. Featuring a 12V Lithium-Ion battery, the HACKZALL cuts over 80 pieces of 11/2" PVC on a single charge. The 2420 delivers a 1/2" stroke 3,000 times per minute for a smooth yet aggressive cut, and utilizes a keyless QUIK-LOK blade clamp to ensure quick and easy blade changes. The lightweight design offers less user fatigue as well as one-handed operation. Compact design makes it easier for users to access tight spaces or awkward angles. The HACKZALL features a variable speed trigger that provides increased user control and all-metal gear case and gears that live up to Milwaukee's legendary durability. Additional features include a built-in LED light and battery fuel gauge that displays the remaining run-time. Backed by Milwaukee's 5-year tool warranty and 2-year battery warranty, the 2420-21 comes with one 12V Lithium-Ion battery, a 30-minute charger, two Hackzall blades and a carrying case.

The Milwaukee Warranty Every MILWAUKEE power tool is tested before leaving the factory
and is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship.
MILWAUKEE will repair or replace (at MILWAUKEE's discretion), without
charge, any tool (including battery chargers) which examination proves
to be defective in material or workmanship from five (5) years after
the date of purchase. Return the tool and a copy of the purchase receipt
or other proof of purchase to a MILWAUKEE factory Service/Sales Support
Branch location or MILWAUKEE Authorized Service Station, freight prepaid
and insured. This warranty does not cover damage from repairs made or
attempted by other than MILWAUKEE authorized personnel, abuse, normal
wear and tear, lack of maintenance, or accidents.
The warranty period for V28, M12 and M18 Li-Ion Battery Packs is two (2) years from the date of purchase. XC M18 Battery packs carry a (5) year warranty. The warranty period for Ni-Cd Battery Packs, Flashlights, Radios, and Professional Hoists (lever, chain, and electric) is one (1) year from the date of purchase.
*The warranty period for Portable Generators is two (2) years from the date of purchase.

I used the Hackzall to add a filter vent to the attic AC installation in my old house. The AC installation is a horrible kludge left over from previous owners; this tool made the filter vent addition possible.

This tool is useless! I purchased mine a little over a year ago and used it infrequently during that period for light duty projects - each time I had to finish the job with something else because the batteries (2) would give out. Now, they will not take a charge at all. The indicator flashes a constant red and green - meaning defective for both batteries. It's to bad I never read the reviews on these batteries before I bought this. A real bummer!

I bought this to remove a couple of stumps. It's compact, and with a 9" pruning blade it ran right through buried roots. Compact and self-powered, it did a job a conventional reciprocating saw couldn't even access - without any worries about electrical shock.
