Comments about 1/2-in Super Hawg Two-Speed Drill, 450/1,750 RPM with Case:

I am an ISA Certified Arborist, and purchased this tool to run a 13/16"x48' fully fluted ship-auger bit, with a 48' extension, in order to drill holes for through-bracing support systems in large trees. In the course of the day, drilling holes up to 7 feet in length, this tool never worked up a sweat.

The clutch in the low rpm setting was a major selling point. If the bit binds, the clutch will slip, keeping the bit from binding to the point that it can't be reversed with the drill, as well as not throwing me into the next county.

I've also used it for drilling 5/16 by 2" holes in logs, in order to innoculate them with mushroom spawn. The weight of the tool is more than offset by the ease with which it can quickly drill a succession of holes without ever slowing down.

This is the second factory-reconditioned power tool I've purchased from CPO. I continue to be wholly satisfied with my reconditioned tool purchases.

Comments about 1/2-in Super Hawg Two-Speed Drill, 450/1,750 RPM with Case:

I use it to rough-in for plumbing. I drill holes up to 4 5/8" which with the older style hole hawg would catch a knot and throw you into the wall. This drill has a clutch so you don't have to worry about anymore. Great buy this is my 2nd one purchased

Comments about 1/2-in Super Hawg Two-Speed Drill, 450/1,750 RPM with Case:

Great for drilling in tight bays. Awesome power, nice to hold. Wish it was easier to take off the handle at the head to get into even tighter spaces. Wish it was variable speed. But, still works better than anything else I've used, bar none. Worth every penny. Haven't needed the bail bar once yet! But I only drill holes with it, no hole-saw or super-wide bits.
