Great product
I use this grinder for my welding and it works great. Virtually all things about it are good: Weight-able to use one hand as needed for tight spots, just be careful. Auto balance-good for off balanced disc's. Overall design is good. Just one drawback in my opinion: You need to push the side black button first, THEN the trigger to crank it up. I thought it was the trigger lock at first, but it wasn't. Plus I didn't see it in the description before I purchased it. It may take a while to get used to it unless you have something like that already. I'm used to it now and its actually good for safety purposes.

not bad
Only time will tell but great so far! I had a Dewalt, I can tell the difference between the two: Metabo is much more smooth and controllable. By the way I am just a regular guy who grinds a few welds on occasion but I like to buy things that last.

I am looking for an angle grinder for cutting house numbers in stone, and am considering model w1080rt5. Does this angle grinder have soft start, adjustable side handle and anti-vibration, and would you recommend this model for what I want to use it for? If not, could you please recommend several that would? I want to stay with a 5" and want a variable speed, and think that 0 - 5,000 rpms would be best, but possibly the 5 - 10,000 rpms would work as well. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

BEST ANSWER: Model w1080rt5 has a "moderate" start mode with no anti vibration. The handle is not adjustable. With the correct grinding wheels, yes, this could be used to cut stone.
This grinder is made in Germany.??
