    • 6.0 Amp 10,000 RPM Paint Remover

I'm installing replacement windows which requires stripping at least 100 years of paint from the old exterior stops and edges of the old casings, as well as the sills. The outside surface of the exterior stops contains a thick (1/16"+?) layer of caulking used to seal aluminum storm window frames 5 or 6 decades ago. The old caulking varies in consistency from rock hard to slightly pliable. Will this tool deal with the narrow stops (1/2" - 1") and the old caulking? I expect to have to use a heat gun and scraper at the corners, bit how close to the corners can I expect this tool to reach? FYI, I've done 5 windows so far and the paint removal requires the greatest effort, by far. Have a dozen more to go.

I have a house with cedar siding built in 1910. I pressured washed the house, there is about half of the paint remaining. I would like to remove all of the paint, and scraping is too time consuming...and not efficeint.
I noticed the 3" lap siding is cupped approx 1/8 to 3/16".(center is lower, concaved) will this tool work or does the surface need to be flat? wondering if i would be better off using a sanding disc in my particular case. Your product looks amazing.

Concave is likely to be problematic unless you are willing to hog away the high parts along with the paint. It might not be a bad idea to flatten the wood in the process, but it will be significant work. This thing easily has the power to knock down the thickness of the high parts, especially if that lap siding is also cedar. But you should work carefully and start out with it set to shave away thinly until you have a feel for how it handles. I made the mistake of running it sideways along the edge of a piece of 3/4 thick trim and taking down the thickness of that section by better than 1/8" in a heartbeat. The tool is powerful.

It occurs to me that another tool you might use with success if you're of a mind to flatten the lap siding is a power hand planer (the kind whose blades spin on a cylinder like a table jointer has, but smaller) - you would probably get more even results. You might also make a mess of its blades if you get too aggressive or if the blades are not carbide.
