      Comments about 14 in. Electric Chain Saw (3/8 in. - 0.050 in.):

      I, like many active 65 year olds, continue climbing the trees on my property, wearing arborist harness and using climbing ropes and devices. I cut some firewood each year from the dead wood I relieve my pin oaks of and other 'fall' bounty. I've used gas powered chain saws for nearly forty years; my favorite a Johnsred that served me well for nearly twenty years. I'm using this Makita as the second electric I've owned. The first came from a local BigLots and though clearly inferior in nearly every way, it too served to assist me in small ways for two seasons. The Makita is (by my account) a solidly-built tool that (so far) is serving me quite well as I move from trunk to tree limb to trunk 30-50 ft in the air. I've opted for a 12/3, 100 ft electric cord (heavy to lift but can easily be tied off on any stub with plenty of slack to reach as far as needed). Its 11 pounds are very well balanced and (with good cutting practices) any one-handed operation is subject to minimal kickback. The 14" bar and chain (for me) are also clear assets up in trees. Whether at limb or trunk I can more easily maneuver this saw in tight quarters than I could saws before now. If performance continues as it has begun, I can imagine this saw being an active part of my stewardship efforts for many seasons to come.

      Comments about 14 in. Electric Chain Saw (3/8 in. - 0.050 in.):

      Enjoyed using this chain saw, and even with slightly awkward weight distribution of the unit, felt in total control. It cut thru everything very easily and with more power than I expected.
      The only small hitch was ensuring the direction of the chain was correct, as the manual was not overly clear and the picture didn't portray the chain teeth very well.
      BUT, VERY happy with the performance so far, and no need for a gas one now....

        Bought this saw for residential demolition of timber framed structures, this saw is faster than a saws-all, but don't hit any nails...good power and reasonable weight to power. The spare parts list regarding the chain is inadequate, however I was able to find at [@] using an Oregon chain cross reference guide.

        Comments about 14 in. Electric Chain Saw (3/8 in. - 0.050 in.):

        I bought this saw so I could cut up logs for turning anytime without upsetting the neighbors by running my Stihl gas chain saw. I expected a lighter and smaller saw. This is a serious saw that cuts nearly as well as my Stihl saw but it also weighs about as much and is nearly as large. If you want a very light saw this is not you saw.
        I had a problem with the automatic chain oiler right out of the box. I had to completely disassemble the saw to get it working. Turned out the oil feed tube was kinked, apparently not assembled correctly.

        New Vs. Reconditioned

        Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.

        • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
        • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
        • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee;
          New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 60 days.
