Very pleased with the impact and driver/drill. As for the charger it didn't work at all. So I gambled and took it apart, and found the connection plug from the battery connector to the circuit board not plugged in. Plugged it in and now the charger works great no problem. So much for the factory checking everything 100%. I thought about phoning but they would have just said send it back and that whole process is a month of my time and I didn't want to go there if I didn't have to. The gamble paid off and now I am happy. Would I buy recon again? I will make that decision when the next time comes around.

They also use a branding iron to that melts in an "R" to the plastic case of the tools. It is not a very big R but they don't tell you they do this branding of recon tools. If I had a work crew that used these tools I am sure they would not treat the tools with respect knowing that they are being issued used tools. My .02

Other than those two complaints I am very pleased with my purchase. Now I just hope that they last as long as they would have if I had bought them new.

I drove over 10,000 screws (literally) with this impact driver last year alone at my job. I was so impressed that I bought one for my home shop.

Have used the drill/hammer drill tool less than the impact driver, though the hammer drill setting has already proved indispensable.

Both tools fit well in hand, seem well balanced, and have plenty of power and battery life.

Very happy with these tools, especially the impact driver.

I use these drills almost daily in my job with a sign company. The drill and driver have plenty of power, and the battery holdl power longer than I would have expected. I would recomend Makita to anyone.

As a Handyman, I use the drill and driver almost every day. This is my 2nd set after 3 yrs only because I dropped the drill too many times from a ladder and the handle finally cracked. It still worked fine, but the battery would wobble. I keep the old driver with me for those few times when I need two.

You would never know this was a recon. tool. Works as good as a new tool off the shelf. Same tool just a lower price, same great tool, same great power and durability.

I've recently been building a 2-car carport. I didn't move beyond sinking my 9 4x4 posts until my new (refurbished) Makita LXT impact & drill arrived. Since then I've been building to code doubling up 2x6s as perimeter and main support for the single 2x6 rafters. Just the rafters will require 112 2x6 joist hangers (four rows of 14 rafters) and I've been using 2.5 inch screws to mate everything. No, I haven't been doing pilot holes and screws non-stop as I have been cutting material as I go; but even after a full day, both the drill and driver are running full song. Neither battery has taken longer than 20 minutes on the charger at the end of the day before I hear the beep indicating 100%. My black & decker and ryobi cordless tools would have collapsed--lost battery power multiple times each day and wore me out while doing so. The difference between using the impact to drive screws home and using my old 14.4v B&D or 18v Ryobi is staggering. I would pay full-price new for the difference, but I didn't have to. The refurbs are 50 bucks cheaper than new and the only thing you lose for the $50 is 2 years on the new 3-year warranty. I can live with one year. After all, if I'm going to push it beyond its limits and find an inherent flaw in a tool, I'm likely to do it well before a year is out. Great tools and the impact is as light as my old 14.4v B&D...and that's with the big 3Ah bateries the LXTs come with (I wanted the longer run-time the compact L-ions can't match with only 1.5Ah). Inspires me to do the old Tim Allen "grunt, grunt, grunt...more power!" I think I know what I'm getting my son-in-law for next Christmas.

The drill is able to drive a 1" Auger bit with ease and the Impact is able to set a Snake Anchor with ease.
