Comments about 10 in. Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Laser:

Generally I'd say good design, but the left fence was out of adjustment and did not line up with the lower fence area. The design offers no way easy way to fix this problem - removing the upper fence and using shim stock the upper fence surface can be moved out to be co-planer with the lower fence area. Once that is done (you'll need a micrometer and/or a caliper) everything lined up fine.
It would be nice if the laser line worked on both sides of the blade at the same time. If you have it setup for the left side and then unscrew a knob and move the laser to the right there's a strong possibility that when you move it back to the left the alignment will be off and you'll have to go to the manual to re-adjust.
Even with a dust extractor / shop vacuum attached the dust collection is poor.
My recommendation - if you want a dead-on accurate miter saw that's a joy to use, buy a Kapex if you can afford it.
For the money I would recommend to a friend as long as he/she was willing to deal with the above.

Comments about 10 in. Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Laser:

This saw is very nice for the price point. It has all kinds of features and it seems like they really thought it thru when designing it. The only thing that missing is, it didn't come with any outriggers. I have my own though. You can lock both slides individually. The double bevel is easily controlled. and the mitre lock is pretty handy as well.

Comments about 10 in. Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Laser:

Good overall and can do almost anything you need from a miter saw.

Its a very versatile miter saw.

It's "vise" is actually handy and not always in the way. It's one of the few ones I didn't want to just immediately throw away.

It's trigger safety does its job without being super annoying and I like that it has the horizontal handle vs the vertical style.

Lighter than its competition(dual bevel sliders under $500)

Makes cuts some of its competition can't (60° miter to the right) however rare that would be used.

Direct drive motor means less maintenance and better precision vs belt driven

Has a depth stop that can be used for making simple dados like a radial arm saw (a lot of other brands don't bother with that)

It actually comes with a pretty good 60 tooth blade

A lot of well thought out features.

Its dust collection even with a vacuum is just OK at best.

Its laser is fine for giving you a general idea of where the blade is. I usually just leave the laser off because I find its more distracting than helpful.

Overall I chose this saw over Dewalt, Bosch etc because its lighter, more precise, has more features and costs less while still giving me everything I need in a miter saw.

Once I figured out how to calibrate the saw (instructions & diagrams not much help). It produced dead-on accurate and smooth cuts. A pleasure to use.

Comments about 10 in. Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Laser:

I had a hard time letting go of my Makita LS1013FL. I have owned the saw for 3 years and I bonded with it, that's how good that saw was. Then, then came along the LS1016. At first I was sceptical, the quality, fit and overall apearance was what I thought at the time way different then my 1013. I eyed this saw for a year and one day a wood floor installer had one on a job site and he let me have a go at it doing some crown molding, I purchased one the next day. The floor installer told me he works his saw to the max and has not had one issue. I took a triangular tool along with my Wixley digital angle display to the saw and it was dead on, even he was suprised. His saw gets thrown around daily from job site to job site then has to cut Oak Hardwood Flooring non stop through the day and as he say's it has never skipped a beat. I could not have asked for a better reveiw and the saw convinced me that it was time to let go of my 1013. Boy am I glad I ever did. I purchased a new one and after just a few of my own minor tweaks it has been above my expectatations compared to my old 1013. It is lighter but yet seems stronger and much smoother operation overall. I do allot of custom trim work and so far this saw is 100% accurate. I have it sitting on the WST01 Makita work station which is a great addition to this saw if your someone like me who is very mobile.
