The Makita Standard Warranty applies to both new and factory-reconditioned Makita tools. Every Makita tool is thoroughly inspected and tested before leaving the factory. If you are not satisfied with any Makita tool within 30 days of purchase, return it and Makita will provide a replacement or refund. Each Makita tool is warranted to be free of defects from workmanship and materials for the period of ONE YEAR from the date of original purchase. Should any trouble develop during this one-year period, return the COMPLETE tool, freight prepaid, to one of Makita's Factory or Authorized Service Centers.If inspection shows the trouble is caused by defective workmanship or material, Makita will repair (or at its option, replace without charge).

- Repairs have been made or attempted by others
- Repairs are required because of normal wear and tear
- The tool has been abused, misused or improperly maintained

I would say that I have used a lot of different miter saws but I have found this to be the easiest to set up. I like that is light weight and that it is quiet compared to some of the other manufacturers saws. Very dependable and accurate.

I am a Master Carpenter and I have 2-1013's for the past 12 years.I looked at this saw at [...] and checked it out.The motor and blade slide is split or on 2 separate rails that is not smooth from back of saw to the front.Everything on this saw is clumsey and not refind as the old 1013 model. I don't know who designed this one but they need to go back to school or work in the field with this goofy saw. I would NOT buy one!!I am very dissappointed in Makita!.

I have owned the LS1013 for the past 10 years and I loved it, one of the best tools ever built. I purchased the LS1016, opened the box and it was already broke (that says something to me). I was very concerned about buying it to start with, all the new features resemble the Dewalt (JUNK). The controls are not fluid and very awkward. I am a Finish Carpenter and my LS1013 has been used for the past 10 years daily and is showing its age, now what! This crapolla is what's available now?
