Makita Standard Warranty
The Makita Standard Warranty applies to both new and factory-reconditioned Makita tools. Every Makita tool is thoroughly inspected and tested before leaving the factory. If you are not satisfied with any Makita tool within 30 days of purchase, return it and Makita will provide a replacement or refund. Each Makita tool is warranted to be free of defects from workmanship and materials for the period of ONE YEAR from the date of original purchase. Should any trouble develop during this one-year period, return the COMPLETE tool, freight prepaid, to one of Makita's Factory or Authorized Service Centers.If inspection shows the trouble is caused by defective workmanship or material, Makita will repair (or at its option, replace without charge).
This Warranty does not apply where:
- Repairs have been made or attempted by others
- Repairs are required because of normal wear and tear
- The tool has been abused, misused or improperly maintained
- Alterations have been made to the tool

This recon unit had a few minor dings, but that's why it's discounted, right?
Consider it job site ready! This radio is an excellent choice to easily carry around. Sound is good. Presets are easy to manage. Nothing complicated about this radio. It also seems well designed for job site abuse. Time will tell. This unit was a good value.

Excellent Sound!!! First Day on the jobsite out with the Dewalt in with the Makita. Easy to tune in the digital station dial. The acustics in this radio make me think it should be in my entertainment center at home.
Downfall doesn't charge battery.

Sounds good if it isn't up against a wall in a 12 X 12 room, other than that this little guy is pretty decent and powerful, oh and IT DOES NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY!!!!! only uses it to play the radio, or you can plug it in of course, but for [$] can you really complain? Especially still with a 1 year manufacturer warranty......Welcome

This is a great sounding radio/stereo at a very good price point in comparison with other job site radios and it works well with my iPod. It is loud enough and is easy to move with me while I work. I always wear hearing protection when using power tools so I don't need a job site radio to be excessively loud (I turn off the radio when using tools). I connect my iPod to the front headphone jack as I frequently need to access it so I don't have a problem like others who use the battery compartment jack. The radio can be powered by nearly every battery Makita has made - a real plus. The battery run time is very long so there is no need to fall back on the A/C power cord which just restricts you from moving it around anyway. The small size/weight, rubber corner bumpers and easy to grab handle are other plusses. The only major weakness of this radio is the weak FM stereo receiver. A magnetic telescoping retrieving tool attached to the antenna helps improve the reception problem.
