Comments about 4 in. x 24 in. Belt Sander:

My first project with my new Makita belt sander was sanding a 600 sq. ft. subfloor. The floor was rough and uneven and full of drywall blobs/dust. After about two hours, the floor is ready for some small area leveling filler. When the filler has dried, I will sand the areas again and be ready to install my laminate flooring. What a time saver! and my floor will look great because the highs and lows will be gone. I used 40 grit belts and it only took 1 and 1/2 belts to do the entire floor.
Screw and nail heads level out just as fast as the plywood.
This was my birthday present from my wife, who learned what she had bought me after the sander had been ordered. She bought me one terrific sander!

Comments about 4 in. x 24 in. Belt Sander:

Had one for years and it has been used heavily in my cabinet shop. Great service and no issues with it. I am replacing it since the old gal is showing its age in wear and tear. Still functions great, but the cord has been repaired numerous time and the case is chipped and cracked from many falls.

This is a professional grade sander. It does a great job on flat surfaces but very heavy for any upright sanding. This tool should last a lifetime .

Comments about 4 in. x 24 in. Belt Sander:

Dust collection is excellent when a mini Shop Vac (or equivalent) is attached to the dust port. Above all this thing tracks. In my experience sanding down subfloors, once you adjust the tracking it stays put. I'm currently sanding my second room and have never had to adjust the tracking from my initial set. Also much quieter than my 3 x 21 Porter Cable.

Comments about 4 in. x 24 in. Belt Sander:

Purchased the sander for DYI oak floor refinishing. One room down , two to go.
Floors are 53 years old and beat. Started with 40 grit and worked up to 8o.
Finished off with 100 with an orbital sander. Second coat of finish today, looks
        great.
TIP- Empty the dust bag when 3/4 full to prevent the dust collector from getting
clogged. Mine clogged, had to use compressed air to clear the duct. No big deal.
        Lesson learned.
