Makita Standard Warranty
The Makita Standard Warranty applies to both new and factory-reconditioned Makita tools. Every Makita tool is thoroughly inspected and tested before leaving the factory. If you are not satisfied with any Makita tool within 30 days of purchase, return it and Makita will provide a replacement or refund. Each Makita tool is warranted to be free of defects from workmanship and materials for the period of ONE YEAR from the date of original purchase. Should any trouble develop during this one-year period, return the COMPLETE tool, freight prepaid, to one of Makita's Factory or Authorized Service Centers.If inspection shows the trouble is caused by defective workmanship or material, Makita will repair (or at its option, replace without charge).
This Warranty does not apply where:
- Repairs have been made or attempted by others
- Repairs are required because of normal wear and tear
- The tool has been abused, misused or improperly maintained
- Alterations have been made to the tool

I used it to buff a new paint job, It worked flawlessly, it was easy to attach the buffing pad using the centering tube. The variable speed is easy to adjust while running.

Typical of Makita and why I continue to guy their products over others. It's smooth and the slow smooth start up feature. The variable speed also maintains the chosen speed with a load is applied. You can start with a scrubbing sponge loaded with liquid wax and slowly start up so you don't throw the wax off and then come up to full speed as applicable. Only complaint would be it's a bit heavy, perhaps if Makita were to change the case and other large metallic portions into magnesium it would drop some weight off?

Polishing a 1988 32' sailboat hull and deck for the first time. This polisher was recommended by a pro and I am so glad I bought it. I polished one side of the hull in two hours and now it looks like glass. Variable speed is a must. Curved handle made reaching difficult areas on top of a narrow platform very easy. Unit is powerful and consistent. I cannot imagine doing this job with anything else.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use this polisher for car detailing. I bought it because I see all the pro's using it. Now I know why they choose Makita. It's the best. I see other brands out there but not more often than Makita.

I have 2 polishers at the shop ones a makita and the other is a DeWalt. The Makita is used more often than the DeWalt. The DeWalt seems much heavier and not as smooth as the Makita.

I bought the Makita to replace an old B&D Industrial buffer that I have used for years. I can't believe that I didn't replace it years ago. The Makita is so powerful but smooth. With the variable speed in the lowest setting, it still has the power to cut the heaviest compounds and the motor never heats up.
With the nice carry bag and the two buffing pads, this kit is a great value.
