  • 5 in. Replacement Backing Pad for BO5001 Sander

The original backing pad for my BO5001 was made such that the rubber cushion was molded around the outer edge of the orbiting plate. That design, and adhesive, held the pad in place. The rubber pad has deteriorated over time and has finally come apart.

The replacement backing pad for the BO5001 orbital sander appears to be of a different design. Is it simply held in place with adhesive or does this pad fit over the outside perimeter of the metal orbiting disk?
    Thanks for any information.
