I bought this unit specifically to cut heavy growth weeds and small brush and it works great. I just bought the small cutter head but would advise buying the regular heavy cutter which I will be doing, as small heads will not hold up well under heavy usage. Overall a very nice unit.

This is my second Husky weedeater. First was a 2 cycle that last a little over a year. Took it to the repair shop and the price to fix it exceeded it's value. Decided to look for another one. The 4 cycle WE appealed to me. I purchased it and used it. Power is so-so. Not what was expected or bragged about on the reviews. Put it away. When I picked it up to use again there was a large puddle of golden motor oil under it. I can't find where it is leaking so I refill it and it seems to be holding. I use again and put in the back of my ATV to take a quick break. I notice a puddle of oil under the engine. I get to looking and if you put the thing down with the air-filter on the bottom oil starts poring out of it.

None could come close to this trimmer, wish I could have had this years ago, don't mind doing the work around the house now with this, I now look for the day I can use it again. Thanks Husqvarna.

There were no reviews from a woman's perspective, so I felt obligated to put in my 2 cents! I've owned this trimmer for over 2 years and it's still running fine. I have to agree that the manual is not as helpful as I would have expected it to be, but I am able to find the answers to my questions on-line and that makes it a "non-issue" for me. This is a sturdy lawn tool and because of the quality (although a bit pricey!) I also purchased a Husqvarna chain saw. I feel that the ease of use and durable construction make Husqvarna a name I can rely on whenever I'm making equipment purchases.

Does this model have a clutch linking the engine with the drive shaft. I prefer direct drive as the clutch tends to slip unless operated at high rpm's
