      Best Uses

If you are a finish carpenter or builder this miter saw gives you perfect cuts and is very powerful. I make rustic style furniture and also do carpentry work. I purchased this saw over two months ago and all cuts are still on the money.
I use this saw mostly on 5/4 oak and ash and hickory log saplings and it cuts right through without problems.

Were exactly are the carbon brushes? How many of them? What do I look for as far as wear? Is there a location on the saw for storage of blade wrench?

            A:

The brushes transfer the electricity from outside the motor to the spinning winding in the center of the motor. They undergo quite a lot of friction, and after a while wear out. Carbon is used as it is a reasonable conductor, and is soft enough to wear down instead of wearing down the "comutator" - the ring the brushes press against. Brushes are designed to be replaceable in large motors because of this.
The saw takes a pair of them to operate.
No, the wrench is in a black bag.
