Comments about 10 Amp 14 in. Electric Dethatcher:

We are very pleased with the size of this de-thatcher and the amount of thatch that this machine removed from our large lawn. Was nice to be able to take our time thatching ninstead of having to do it all in one day by renting one. After using it I told my sister about it and she ordered one too. Glad that my husband saw someone using this de-thatcher when he was out jogging otherwise we would not have known about it. Great machine, would purchase it again. We recommend it to others who enjoy doing their own lawn.

Comments about 10 Amp 14 in. Electric Dethatcher:

Was quite surprised how great a job it did for the size. Would recommend to anyone with a smaller yard. Paid for itself in one use. Now I don't need to rent and can dethatch on my own time. Could use a longer handle for a taller person. Made the neighbors jealous.

Comments about 10 Amp 14 in. Electric Dethatcher:

Nice and compact and easy to use. Did an excellent job loosening years of dead grass build up even on the highest setting. I have a small lawn so a 100 foot extension cord worked for me but if you need a longer cord you will risk damage to the unit.

Comments about 10 Amp 14 in. Electric Dethatcher:

Put this to work right out of the box and it produced excellent results. I was skeptical about the power of an electric dethatcher but I became a believer within 2 minutes. My lawn was thick, long and had not benefitted from dethatching for years. None the less, this little guy got right down to the soil and brought up all the thatch. It does have a heat related shut off which became bothersome at first. But then I realized that it was probably the tines working against the ball of thatch under the device that was causing the overheating problem. I learned to tip one side of the device up onto one wheel and it would move the device over the ball of thatch. Then return the device to its normal operating position (on two wheels) and it never overheated again. I found with the amount of thatch I was generating that I needed to do this little tipping maneuver about every 10 feet.

It does not come with a grass catcher. You either rake up the loose grass or suck it up with a mower which is what I did.

The tines on the machine propel it. It may need a hand on a really steep hill, but should do the trick on moderate hills
