Due to light weight I needed to continuously remind myself that it is a real chainsaw that can be dangerous if not careful.
I own a Christmas tree farm & was looking for a saw that was easy & light enough for a woman to handle safely. This saw is it. Its compact size allows for easy trunk cutting. It has enough engine to cut down a typical 6-8 foot tree with ease. It's a great product at a great price. The only thing that would improve this product would be if it came in its own plastic carrying case; it does, however, come with a scabbard to protect the blade.
A friend loaned me a 18" gas powered chainsaw to cut up a 16' x 18-20" log into pieces for a countertop and legs for my pool deck. The saw was brand new. It lasted for 1/2 hour and just quit inexplicably. He returned it and brought the identical saw back (brand new). It would not even start.
I have a Greenworks lawn mower that works great, also purchased here, so I thought I'd check out a chain saw. I would normally only use this for small limb trimming and cutting small pieces for firewood, but needed to finish the job left undone by the gas chainsaw. Since I did not think it would do so well, I took a "before" pic. Much to my amazement it cut the rest of the log and there is still power left on the battery.
If you check out the pics you can see where it was cut with the gas saw, black marks. The Greenworks Saw is too small for this job so I had to cut in from both sides. The cut is not the cleanest because the saw is too small for a job like this, but WOW. Unbelievable. Well, I hope this helps other buyers. Reviews always help me so I always return the favor for others.
