Excellent tool
I am an amateur do-it-yourselfer who had never used a circular saw before and never even heard of a track saw before 2 weeks ago. I was planning to put down a plywood subfloor beneath an engineered wood floor so I did some research online and ran across this tool. I was a little intimidated when I received it so I read the instruction manual cover to cover (the English part). I still wasn't comfortable, so I hit YouTube for some instructional videos. This was extremely useful, more so than the manual.

When I finally used it, it was a piece of cake! I'm cutting and scoring 4x8 plywood while they're still stacked in my driveway. The track, in addition to making the cuts more precise, I believe make this saw, for me, much safer than a standard circular saw because it sits stable on and securely follows the track.

Lessons learned after only a couple of hours using this product:
1. Need 2 connectors to connect two tracks together. I didn't realize before buying it, bought only 1 and now I have to use 1 track and move it twice to cut the 8' plywood while I wait for the second connector to arrive.
2. I can connect my regular shop vac but I had to duct tape the hose while I wait for the Festool hose to arrive. You can get an adapter but I felt my shop vac hose was too short so I think the Festool hose would be good to have. Yes, I wish I could have bought the dust extractor combo which would be much nicer solution but the dust extractor price was a bit high for me.

Bottom line: Very well built, very well designed tool, that is easy to use even by an amateur such as myself and makes easy work out of cutting a stack of plywood. And by the way, this tool is so precise that I can cut a sheet of plywood through and through and not leave a mark on the sheet beneath it. How cool is that?

Awesome track saw!
Expensive but very well thought out and designed circular saw. Can breakdown sheet goods better than a table saw and with the expensive accessories it is great. Price hurts up front but a pleasure to use and expecting years of wokr out of this.

Cut perfect edges
Festool has made this product a must have if you want quality edges on your long panel cuts. The tracks are easy to lay down and the saw works flawlessly on the tracks.

Surpasses my expectations !
I owned a small table saw prior to purchasing and didn't enjoy using it for long rip cuts. I do not have the option to build an outfeed table for support and safety so it was a juggling act to set up prior to making rip cuts. I did some extensive research and price comparisons and concluded that Festool TS 55 REQ was the best bet for me. Don't get me wrong, the price was the one factor that kept me from buying but after researching other options and taking into consideration my available space and the price of a good table saw; the FESTOOL TS55 was the one for me. I already made a small sitting bench and some shelving using the TS55 and didn't dread using the tool at all. Looking forward to my next projects from my list.

This is a no-brainer.
I was skeptical that the track would stay in place. I was wrong. Even with sawdust on it the track stayed put. Next purchase is a dust extractor and a guide rail deflector. I should have purchased this saw years ago. I could have saved myself a ton of aggravation. Everything fits in the case and stays protected. I wish they made a hard shell case for the tracks.

Don't wait any longer
Should have got this years ago, if you think using a straight edge and normal saw is productive wait until you try this saw. You can cut doors down literally in a couple minutes, it takes longer to remove the door than to cut it, two pencil marks and cut. Cabinet skins, long fillers, bead board, whatever you use a circular saw for, this saw will save a lot of time and give you a better product.
