Festool's 495462 MFT/3 Multi-Function Table's new features include a 35-1/2-in work surface height, new V-Groove profile for adapting future accessories, lighter weight for improved portability, 85% more work surface than the MFT 800 and 15% lighter weight than the MFT 1080. A solid workbench is critical to most, if not all, cutting operations and assembly work. The inability to move the workbench from the workshop to the jobsite can be limited. The Festool MFT (Multi-Function Table) system is the most versatile, flexible, and economical solution.
Features:
  • Perforated top and clamps - simply insert a clamp to solidly secure any work piece to the sturdy MDF top or extruded aluminum sides of the MFT
  • Clamping elements - a wide variety of clamping elements are available to secure any size or shape work piece, including round pieces (Sold Separately)
  • Angle unit and guide rail system - with the large support area as a base, the angle unit and guide rail ensure secure grip of the work piece for precision angle cutting
  • Dual Position Fence - Position the fence in a horizontal or vertical position based on the application. A re-designed fence now allows for thinner material between the guide rail and the table surface
  • Foldaway legs - with the legs folded, the table is easy to transport and stow away
  • Guide rail height adjustment - the FS guide rail can be easily adjusted to correspond to the thickness of the material, ensuring precision cuts every time
  • Optional extension - a table extension is available to increase support for larger pieces; multiple tables can be combined using table connectors (Sold Separately)
  • Guide rail - the multifunction table and the guide rail make the perfect couple; together they offer all the features required to produce precise, high-quality results
Includes:
  • MFT/3 Multi-Function Table - 495462
  • (2) Guide Rail Supports
  • Angle Unit
  • Fence Rail
  • Adjustable Stop
  • 42-in Guide Rail - FS1080

      Comments about MFT/3 Multi-Function Table:

We use this table as a jobsite table, a panel saw, a sanding station, etc. Once the rail and mitre gauge are dialed in the the MFT performs extremely well. These tables are not meant to be banged around a truck fully assembled. It would be prudent to break down all the accessories before transporting or you be dialing it in every time you use it. The fact that it can be used with clamps, bench dogs, other tables just makes it all the better.

      Comments about MFT/3 Multi-Function Table:

The tables [and vac] are the foundation of the system. You can certainly use all the tools without, but you'd give up a lot of the functionality offered.

These are portable shop tables so they're not light, but they are sturdy and very fast to set up. I have two, which I use side by side.

I depend on the extruded rails on the perimeter [that accept the Festool clamps] as they are square to one another, which makes for countless possibilities when setting up jigs.

The cross-cut tool-set is a bit cumbersome to set up and break down with lot of parts, but once ready, make cuts happen easily I wouldn't try otherwise.

      Comments about MFT/3 Multi-Function Table:

The name truly fits. Cut at basically any angle with precision and safety, clamp your workpiece either flat or on edge, rout, sand, you name it.

For cutting/routing, the guiderail gives you the most accurate this side of a 5 digit panel saw while taking up a mere fraction of the space - at a mere fraction of the price mind you. The only issue I take is the weight (this thing will never be considered light) and the small worksurface. If you have a sized panel or component you will be just fine. The trouble I get into is getting my materials broken down to a manageable size so they can fit on said table. I don't want to have two tables: one for X and the other for Y.

In Festool's defense, you can gang multiple table together to create a surface that accommodates your needs, but at the price per unit that is not really cost effective for me. Don't let that dissuade you though. I have one and use it fairly often. Just remember the limitations and see if they apply to you.

      Comments about MFT/3 Multi-Function Table:

I use this table primarily for cross cuts in wood when I don't have table saw access. There is enough play within all of the parts that the cuts are reasonably accurate, but I don't get consistient results from cut to cut if I were producing multiples pieces. With the holddowns and other available clamps, the table is great for sanding and joining though.
